Disney's main attention is towards the investors, not the visitors. Why do you think we are getting Pandora: World of Avatar? None of us really asked for it. But the investors saw that it made a tremendous amount of money at the box office. Or i could be wrong and I literally just wasted your time. Either way, it's all about the benjamines.
It never used to be this way.
The building of Walt Disney World, E.P.C.O.T. Center, MGM, Star Tours, etc, didn't stop people from following their dreams.
After Euro Disneyland flopped, the bean counters took over to control cost of any major single new addition.
People LOVE Figment and Dreamfinser. Disney still sells their merchandise for a reason.
But do they sell Dr. Nigel Channing merchandise? No, they don't, because not enough people care for the character.
Eventually whatever goes up must come down. Like the Roman Empire, Universal will find themself in an enigma that cannot be narrowly absconded from.
Whatever goes down, will rise. There will be a new Disney Decade. Time never tells; it is only our individual choice that influences the idea to progress through tomorrow.
One of my favorite parts of the current Imagination ride is the idea that, "Imagination works best, when set free."
"You said it Doc, Imagination is a BLAST!!"
Thus the power and light of all creations.
"If we can dream it, we can do it."
