Steve Davison hints at 2 new projects

while that may be true, Spectro still hasn't moved from it's mothballed location.. it's still tented back stage... saw it today as a matter of fact..

Additionally, I saw the ride vehicles for little mermaid sitting in the paint shop @central shops... They look a LOT like the clamshells from nemo, just subtlely different.

Interesting about Spectro. Either they're WAY behind in re-purposing it, or they're going with an entirely new parade completely.

Great news about the ride vehicles in Shops. They don't like to store things in there longer than necessary, so that means they'll be taken to the ride very soon. There's light at the end of the tunnel!

Just thought I'd comment... The snake in Fantasmic is a conga line of human performers, not any kind of breakable animatronic. If there's a safety issue on stage (typically if the stage is wet and slippery) the snake doesn't move and the performers just stand in one place.

That would explain it because it was fairly windy and it had rained earlier in the day. They had a lot of fog issues with different shows due to the wind that week.

Would have been cool if they could have been shaped different like in the old original concept art, instead of almost the exact same nemo clams.

I was trying to paste a pic here of one I found but cant get it to work, oh well its off topic anyway I guess.

I had posted several weeks ago that I watched Fantasmic with only one projector working, missing lasers, no moving snake, and the backdrop just exposed to the backstage area. I don't think it needs replaced but it needs a major overhaul. HD projectors, LED lighting, new dragon, new painted backdrop, new fountains.

Any thoughts on when we might see the new daytime parade? I had thought it was already in the works as some said concept art had been going around? Which Could have meant we may see it late this year or early next year along with the return of Spectro.

This would mean Steve is working on 2 other projects along with the new parade :) Maybe not both for WDW but maybe at least one!

Thursday.

You asked for thoughts. That was the first thought that popped into my head.

It's been moving around from Central to storage and back again the past few weeks.

I'd imagine that Avatarland would need some pretty cool lighting, music, all-encompassed in unity much like the movie.

Then add in a nighttime show.

To build off of your idea I think an actual Avatar land could be a show. Kind of like the 'shows' that happen at Rainforest Cafe, but much more complex and narrative driven. Could be cool. Wouldn't need explosions or extremely loud noises. It could even use that new 'touch' technology Disney whipped up.

Yes, this would also work for a Star Wars Land.

Never. Not ever. Not even what comes after never.
When the universe finally collapses in on itself, ending all existence in one swift whoosh......not even then.

~Adventurer for life...and maybe beyond...~

Add a little rhyming to this and you'll have yourself the beginnings of a nice little Dr. Suess-type story. You may have a new calling. :)

Avatarland is still just in it's very first stages, they would not be working on shows etc. at this point in time. In fact Avatarland might not actually get off the ground. Also if Avatar is going to end up as mostly one big show then it will fail. Few thoughts.

I would hope that they aren't still in the first stages. We are quickly approaching a year - and with Iger announcing the project should be completed around 2015, that would mean construction would need to start next year. One would think with those target dates...the design phase should be in the critique stage. But as you said...who knows whats really going on with the project....
