Steve Davison hints at 2 new projects

It was originally meant for MK and it would have Ben a whole lot more than Dreams but it was scrapped or "postponed":brick:

Phil Holmes is to thank for that, and if one of these is for MK he is liabel to do it again. But, this time something is sounding a little more promising hopefully. Fingers crossed for any of the four parks.

Makes you wonder what'd have to be done to match them both doesn't it...

The parade is good, but the show is mediocre in my opinion. That is only from watching it online however. I hope the real life version proves me wrong.

I'm glad Universal is getting so much positive press. We may have that positive press to thank for this development.

I don't believe Davidson would be involved for a new stage show. Like killing a fly with a bazooka. He is the big epic producer dude...

I think it will be-

New day parade for Magic Kingdom

Major overhaul of WDW's Fantasmic

I would be happy with this. Both are in serious need of attention... I would be even more thrilled if they would put a new attraction in HS to couple the overhaul of Fantasmic with. But that would probably be asking too much...

Here is the thing. I am super excited some big updates may be in the works, but all of the major shows could really use some love.

The "spectaculars" at WDW are really showing their age in my opinion. MMY is nice, but wasn't ever intended to be the park closing show. Wishes pales in comparison to Remember and now Dreams. Illuminations has aging tech (really just needs tech upgrades). Fantasmic is a joke compared to the other versions. Spectro is 20 years old, we need a replacement not new light bulbs. The daytime parade.... well I don't really care because I haven't seen the daytime parade in 25 years.

So I hear "two" shows in development and I get excited, but I also feel like... Boy which ones and what to do about the others that don't get love???

I completely agree. I think the price for not investing in fresh entertainment for so many years may finally be coming up. Technology has come so far and entertainment everywhere has evolved so much in the last decade, that many of Disney's offerings now seem well past their expiration...I would guess even for a casual visitor...

If you step back and look at it from a day guest's standpoint, the only show that (in my opinion) needs something is the MK nighttime parade. MSEP has been a nice filler while Spectro has been out (it was my childhood parade and I'm glad to have seen it a few times), but it's time for the MK to get a brand new, spectacular parade.

Wishes sees packed crowds every night. Fantasmic is always full. Illuminations, while old, still impresses everyone who watches it. It doesn't take much to amaze people, especially when it comes to parades and fireworks.

Sure, it would be nice to get new versions of Illuminations or Fantasmic, but they don't "need" it, whereas the MK needs a parade. Wishes is a touching fireworks show, and has a place in a lot of hearts, but it's "just a fireworks show".

My preference, I guess, would be two new nighttime events for the MK.

My wish list:

(1) Replacement for Illuminations - I personally really miss the old laser show.. I loved the music and I loved how each country was sort of introduced. It was perfect for the World Showcase, as opposed to today's Illuminations which may be more technologically spectacular but a little blah for my taste. The globe may be unique and expensive but I just don't find a giant TV shaped like Earth with a video of horses running around on it to be entertaining.

(2) Replacement for Fantasmic - Disney can do so much better!

"LIKE" (1)! A lot of people cannot make out what is on the Earth globe. I loved the old IllumiNations!! I watch Martin's video at least once a week!

Fantasmic! has gone way downhill. When we saw it a few weeks ago, the projector for the Beast side was down for the entire show. The snake didn't move. The preshow entertainment was awesome though. It was usually a nightmare (no pun intended) to wait for the show to start.

If it is any 1 of the following I'd be so happy.

1.) Fantasmic OVERHAUL (new, unqiue F! unlike any around the world) or World of Color makeover for DHS

2.) AK nighttime show. Maybe F! moved here (could work!) or World of Color?

3.) New daytime parade for MK- standard parade. NO WEIRD DANCE PARTY. NO.

Just because something has a line doesn't mean it doesn't need to be replaced. Last time I checked Primevel Whirl carried an average 40+ minute wait in the summer.

People like explosions. Not surprising.

You cant wait until it is so unbelievably tired before replacement or it is too late. In show business you have to keep adapting or you find yourself the dinosaur.
