How could I know that? When was the last time you were exposed to small pox?

First, uranium isn't added to vaccines. It's naturally occurring everywhere. And thanks to above-ground atom bomb tests, just about everything on the surface of the planet has a slight, unique radioactive signature. But, it's at very low levels. Just like the low level radiation we're all bombarded with from the sun, cosmos, and naturally occurring radioactive isotopes in the earth.
But anti-vaxxers find trace radioactivity in vaccines and claim its doped with Uranium!
The other heavy metals even the CDC admits to. It's on their site. But they're in trace amounts and in compound form (they don't put elemental mercury in vaccines).
Your body is full of heavy metals, such as iron! Zinc is an essential heavy metal, too. You can't eat food without picking up traces of them. Mothers consume heavy metals all the time in their food and their fetuses are built from them and exposed to them thanks to mom's all-natural diet! A born baby is filled with and made-up of that so-called 'garbage' found in vaccines.
And it's not "garbage" at that level of exposure. We're all exposed to toxins at micro-levels. Some of them are essential to remain living even though large doses would kill us (e.g., potassium).
Is it "safer" to never vaccinate? Yes. If and only if there were no diseases that could permanently harm or kill your baby. But since there are diseases that could permanently harm or kill your baby, it should be a no-brainer to opt for vaccination. The only reason the anti-vaxxer movement doesn't look like the anti-intellectual dolts that they are is because vaccines have been successful in stamping out or reducing (in our region of the world) small pox and measles and polio and other diseases responsible for millions of deaths and permanent injuries. If these people lived in the time when one or more of their children would most likely die from these diseases, they'd be begging for the vaccines.
According to the packaging, I was under the maximum dose. I took 3 chewables at night and again in the morning for 3 1/2 days. They ended up turning my stomach into something of an acid bath. Everything I ate or drank just bubbled immediately (and painfully) into gas and bits. I was up for 3 nights throwing up almost all night. It was kinda like the flu, but with just one severe symptom.
Yep, I'll happily be condescending to people who put children in jeopardy because they refuse to understand basic science. It also appears you are not into discussing topics with people who have a different point of view without being condescending.
I do not reject anything. I only question. Is there something wrong with that? Science/Scientists has had to revise what they thought was accurate so many times over the years. Am I wrong for not automatically agreeing with every study and theory put out? Am I any different from the people hundreds of years aog who believed the Earth was round and were ridiculed by those who believed it was flat?Anti-vaxxers and flat earthers are the same to me.
I'm not in a habit of discussing science with people who reject its basic principles.

If I had child, I would not vaccinate them. I have not had any vaccinations in over 25 years. I have not had the flu either. Just my personal beliefs. It is not my place to tell another what they should do with their child or themselves.
I am not in any fashion attempting to convince anyone, on any level that they should not vaccinate themselves or their kids. Nor have I stated that anybody who does choose to vaccinate is making the wrong decision or crazy for doing so. So why do those who choose to vaccinate continue to assume that because I do not, that it automatically means I am trying to convince others of my belief? Not saying that you said that but there is definitely a heavy impression from those who are pro-vaccination that I am wrong. My choice to not vaccinate does not mean that I believe others should choose the same. Everybody can make their own choices in life. You've not had a tetnus booster? Good luck with that.
Some vaccinations provide life long immunity. Some don't. Which is why they now recommend a measles booster for teens.
I had measles as a child. I spent a week in a dark room, because measles can damage eyesight. I sometimes wonder if that's why I ended up needing glasses two years later.
I still have a scar above one eyebrow from scratching myself during chicken pox. My brother was exposed to polio as a toddler. Thank god he didn't contract it. The little boy he played with daily did. My mother spent a frantic few weeks while she watched her neighbors deal with their 2 year old suffering from polio....he didn't survive.
I never hesitated to vaccinate my child.

Says who? The CDC, Doctors, helicopter parents on Facebook that parrot everything they are programmed to believe? There are just as many studies today that show and prove side affects of vaccinations. And I am sure that the many, many parents whose children now have auto immune diseases from vaccinations would love to spread awareness on the possibilities, but too bad the media does not care to cover those stories though, which in turn leads the masses to believe that its "conspiracy".Your personal belief will jeopardize not only the health of your child but that of others.
I appreciate the response. But the belief that because others (nowhere near all people) get a flu shot allows me to not get the flu is absurd. Citing prevention is by no means definitive. How many people who receive a flu shot still wind up getting the flu or even more serious side affects? They still go to work or out in public so how is that not factored in? Here I am without the flu or passing it on to anybody but some (not saying you) cite me as the problem? The point is that those that choose not to vaccinate benefit from those that do, due to a greatly reduce chance of infection. If/when that number of people grows, and virtually extinct viruses mutate everyone may once again be at risk and the newer and stronger virus is more difficult to eradicate.
It's not as if you have no impact on those that choose to vaccinate. Seal yourself, and your family members that choose not to vaccinate, off into a self contained environment and there is no problem. Until then, you are partaking in all of the benefits produced by those that have chosen to take a minimal risk to benefit society and in turn putting everyone at greater risk. It's the definition of selfishness.
I'm guilty. I didn't get a flu shot this year.

So you are unaware that smallpox was eradicated because of the vaccine whose efficacy you deny? Or do you think the disease was just made up to sell a drug that no longer has a market? Most people looking to make a buck don’t destroy their own market. How could I know that?
We're headed down to DW in about 25 days. I've heard conflicting reports about how bad the flu is in Florida (though mostly I hear about how bad it is in Florida right now). Whole family has had their flu shots. We have a preschooler & a preteen.
I plan to bring loads of sanitizer, as well as wash hands as often as possible. I'm close to having us wear masks on the plane, I really don't want to have the flu in our family. I have a brain tumor, and I mean, that sucks on its own, but I've got a heightened anxiety about illnesses / health because of it.
We can't really reschedule, and we'll be staying in the Orleans Riverside resort.
Where are the germ traps? I've heard the Buzz Lightyear ride should be avoided. Anything else come to mind? Any tips for staying healthy?
Also, any reports on how bad the flu is down there? I know people are carriers before they show symptoms, so I don't really know how to gauge that one. I am seeing our upcoming vacation with more fear than joy though, and I'd like to gauge how bad it is (so that maybe I can let some of this anxiety go.)
I'd love to just relax and enjoy our trip, and I will try while we're there! But being prepared makes things much easier.

I’m pretty sure polio was just made up so FDR could be a lazy bum and get pushed around in a wheelchair. My generation is the last to live in fear of polio every summer. I think my parents and my brothers and I were glad to be free of that fear. Thank you March of Dimes and Drs. Salk and Sabin.
