We needed it badly too, and boy did we get it!!!! It tore my screen house top again....
Usually when we get storms like that we lose cable. My mom usually loses power, and subsequently water, since she's on well water. SUCH a pain. But we need the rain, so I'd be willing to go cable/internet free for a while.

That first one this afternoon was really intense. We haven't had one like that in a long time. Tonight's isn't too bad, but it did sound like it hit something pretty close.

Um...well, it was kind of a few different reasons...it's kind of hard to put into words, so I'll try...
1. I'm my own personal self...
2. I was born with my name...I don't see why I should have to give it up just b/c I'm married to someone else. He doesn't have to give up his.
3. I didn't want to deal with the hassles that go with changing my name.
4. My mom didn't change hers.
5. My name means something in my town...people know my family and if I had a different last name, it would be that extra step to describe.
6. I'm selfish...(I can see Joe picking up on that one right now...oh wait...he's gotta be nice to me...
Me not doing it doesn't mean I don't love my husband...it just means that I'm myself and I'm not going to change for anyone but me. He had to take me as I am. Just as I had to have done with him. Which we have both now done...almost 2 years now.
I thought about hypenating, but that didn't sound right.
The thing that I find the most interesting, and I think a main reason why I did it is b/c you don't automatically recognize the person anymore after they get married. You wouldn't believe the number of times I've seen people get married on Facebook and I've had to go...Ok...now who was that? Just so I know who that is now. You loose yourself when you change your name and that's not what I wanted.
