"Starbright Holidays" Drone show coming to Disney Springs

I see.

I'll tell them at work tomorrow.
Well tell them this... if you have a bunch of drones being launched from a boat in the middle of the a lake, and that boat is also carrying your noise cancelling speaker system, and those drones only fly directly above that speaker system, like in the helix "Christmas tree" pattern shown in this video from Disney, then it should work, but if drones start moving away from that central point were the speakers are toward the people on the shore... then it ain't gonna work, but I can't imagine Disney would want drones flying over guests heads for liability reasons either

By the way remember how for 2 years you insisted that Star Wars land was going were Indiana Jones Stunt show is? ...just sayin'

Really. I know a lot of things but not everything. I only deal in fact.

But we're clogging up the forum. PM me if you'd like.
No need. I personally think it's an excellent idea, and hope it's a good show. And I would imagine that if this goes well, we will see more of it in the parks in the future. Not replacing fireworks at all, but augmenting them. And that's my opinion. Was just curious what your take on it was, but if you're not comfortable with giving it out, then I'm fine with that.

Why are you getting arsey and trying to publically discredit me?

My posts - as things stood at the time - are still there for all to see. Believe it or not things change. Want to know about Timeracers? Or a rollercoaster on TSI? Symphony in D? Or see some Switzerland pavilion art? The new CBJ? Refresh of Maelstrom? The first SWL? The second one? Monsters Coaster? Or how about the RoE underwater balloons?

I've posted about plenty over the last 15 years that hasn't come to fruition. And am fully open to talking about it if I can.

Now who looks silly?

Anyone else concerned about crazy crowd levels at Disney Springs due to this show? Surprising they would do this at a "free" location. Sounds disastrous... but interesting and exciting!

Well, a World of Color was the original idea.

Yeah I had heard that rumor, didn't know it was entirely true. Anyway, and you may disagree... but as much as World of Color is a proven great show, I'm all for something new and unique.

And perhaps WoC or another water show could be added down the line someday.

The more I've thought about this the more interesting it seems. I'm really looking forward to some unique long exposure photography opportunities recording the motion of the lights as they move around during the show. It might be clutter, but it could be something new and unique to aim a camera at.

If only you could use a tripod at DS; it's one of the few places on property where tripods have pretty much always been banned so I'll have to get creative with the bean bag for stability.

I'm going to guess that it'll premiere around the 18th of November. Partially covering for RoL which wanted to premiere then, but will likely fail to make that date. So I think this will come first.

Fireworks are loud too. What's the issue?

Yeah, that's a good point.

Effectively kills just about every whiner's comment about noise. And proves that many people just complain for the sake of complaining.

Apologies if this has been shared already. I travel a lot so it isn't always easy catching up on threads but this could be really good!

Edit: Thanks for moving to the proper thread. As usual, I should have known wdwmagic would be on this lol

That we will. They're proposed for the next version of IllumiNations.

Now that's interesting. I looked through the patent stuff and some of the ideas are pretty wild. Still, you just never know how things will come to fruition. If they did an Illuminations 2.0, this could be a really fun enhancement which I would hope be in addition to fireworks and other elements.
