I never dismissed anyone for not liking it. I have always said everyone is free to have their opinion and that all opinions are equal. You are thinking of someone else...perhaps you are mistaking me for yourself since you are the one that dismisses people who don’t agree with you

I never said it was as good as Empire either. I have always maintained that Empire is my favorite movie of all time. You clearly don’t read my posts very clearly.

So waaayyyyy back on page 1-5, you never stated that the disappointment on the first reaction by some was because they had whipped up their own fanboy theories and they didn't work out?

I'll check the tape...but I think you might have been involved in that. That's all...

Prediction for Episode IX: Rey and Finn end up as an "item". I think both the Rey/Kylo and Rose/Finn quasi-relationships are just more misdirection.

The romance part of all of it is actually the least interesting part for me, but I think you might be right about that.

Edit: my preference is for a Finn/Rey romance. Like I said it is the least interesting part for me, but it is the direction I was hoping they would take it. However, the Finn/Rose/Rey triangle could have real implications for IX that payoff big...imo

Well that would take shark jumping to a whole new level...

Who cares about any of that? Honestly...

The love story in Star Wars are some of the worst ideas ever. I thought not doing that in R1 was a tremendous credit to the team...

The Han/leia thing in empire only worked because Ford and the ghost of carrie fisher pulled it off in scenes...it would have been cringe worthy too if empire hadn't been such a success on all fronts

That quote is from Colin Trevorrow, you know the guy who is no longer directing anything in this trilogy.

As I said in the other thread, thanks for the correction -

Makes a lot of sense now. Johnson decided to crap on TFA, and Colin was gong to you know, actually follow-up on it. Of course, this was before JJ took back over the job, and now he has to decide what he does - go back to what he started, or this new version created in TLJ.

In any case, there are still plenty of places where JJ himself discussed them. Here is a great one - where he made a statement that they "weren't in Episode VII" and then after it was picked up in the press had to make a release clarifying that statement, saying that "she doesn't discover them" in the film:

But no, no one making the films made this some mystery...it was all made up by fans, LOL.

In any case, Rian Johnson made a statement today distancing himself from it, that just further confirmed what I have been saying this whole time - that they are flying by the seat of their pants on this, that since he isn't writing the next one, JJ can change his mind (though as I have also said, that would be terrible storytelling because "Kylo was lying/misinformed" is hard to pull off since they did the whole "moment" where Rey searches her feelings and knows it's true, blah blah).
