I am trying to figure out how the light saber effect is being done. The saber itself is clearly a practical effect, but how are they doing the hole in the ceiling?

That whole inset section of the ceiling is a big disk that rotates, creating the illusion that the saber is carving through when it's actually just swirling into view

That's what I thought too, but the texture of the hole is remaining still in the videos. You're probably right, but there must be some extra aspect to it. Projected texture maybe?

so from the different POV videos it looks like some riders get different experiences, i.e. some get to see the finn animatronic while others get to see the AT-AT blasters?

My only concern is... weather. The walk to the transport is outside, and the finale looks like its somewhat exposed. Florida weather being what it is... I wonder how a heavy downpour will effect this.

Oh word, thank you. I wonder how much of the "18 minute experience" is linked only to the stand-by queue and therefore not accessible to DAS

No knowing yet, I guess, but my assumption is not much. We definitely got the full ride experience on MFSR in the FastPass lane. But I don't know how much of the queue is considered attraction here, and if it's replicated in the FP line
