DHS Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance

This video has some of the best views of blaster damage on AT-ATs, walls, etc.

Things I love:

Music! From the moody atmospheric loop in the hangar bay to the reuse of A New Hope's Death Star finale cue as we race to the escape pods. Perfection!

The brilliant idea of using the empty returning vehicles as part of the show!

The back-and-forth of CMs as Resistance, as First Order, as Resistance. It's not quite like Jungle Cruise skippers infiltrating the Haunted Mansion, but it's close.

The pace! THE PACE! So glad it's swift and snappy and still manages to include a 'breather' moment when hiding below Hux & Kylo.

Returning to disembark outdoors - this adds a nice 'you really did make it back' feel to the attraction.

Happy day! Thanks, YouTube! :)

Was going to keep going, but it doesn't matter. The important question is not do the toys now compare to the old toys, it's when someone walks into Walmart, are they picking up a Finn action figure or a Luke one. That's what I mean by looking at toy sales. What is selling. And not completely what is selling a month after the new movie, but what was selling like 8 months ago.
Do you have the data for that?

In this scene they use the roof to show the blasts but in the first encounter with the stormtroppers where the blast you, it is that fan style machine.

Here is a picture of that laser bolt...

You can see the device that makes the effect here:

I am trying to figure out how the light saber effect is being done. The saber itself is clearly a practical effect, but how are they doing the hole in the ceiling?

That whole inset section of the ceiling is a big disk that rotates, creating the illusion that the saber is carving through when it's actually just swirling into view
