Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance

Just to reiterate so people don't get too confused, the blaster effect is similar to these display videos being posted, but it is not the same. The 'blaster' light comes from an external source and is flashed onto the spinning apparatuses. Additionally, these effects will look MUCH better in person. With how video cameras work, and their shutter speeds interacted with the RPM of the spinners, you can see choppiness in the effect. With how your eye works, you will see none of this. Same as people filming a TV screen; it looks horrible when filmed, but perfectly fine in person.

So what you're saying is, I won't be able to just watch the inevitable YouTube video on Dec 5th and be able to pass full judgment on the ride's effects?

Wow, amazing work, Jack.

Have our insiders corroborated that RotR really will have PotC-level? capacity. That would be some seriously good news.

I said it would have huge capacity, similar to Pirates (in the way that it's a big dark ride with many vehicles moving through show scenes at any one time) but it won't have the same capacity as Pirates. But it will deliver some very good wait times, if there is no fastness for a while like MFSR and very good wait times for a trackless system.

You think most folks buying these will operate them 16 hours a day, non stop, every day?
Does anybody actually think any more?
Do you have an AC unit with a fan in your house? A fan being a spinning device that's only purpose is to spin? I'm assuming it runs basically 24/7/365? Do you have to replace it every 2 months? Again, the only moving part with the blaster effect is a device that spins. Yes it will likely need a repair every now and then, but I don't think it impossible that Disney can reliably make something spin...

Thought it may be useful to post the pictures directly here in the thread...instead of having to navigate to a article. Side note: SUPER excited for Imagineering Story!

Rise looks INCREDIBLE!

Going in January, do we think that the extra extra magic hours will be in effect/extended? Couldn’t imagine why they wouldn’t given how big of an attraction Rise is meant to be.

I don't know, but it sure would be nice. As to why they won't? If crowds aren't too high, then maybe they'll leave it. Or if they just want to save money after so many extra hours in the fall.

I'm actually quite intrigued about this one. How are they going to pull off the illusion that blasts of light will leave the cannons and exit the windows? Long ago, when I thought guests would be wearing 3D glasses, I thought the cannons would be far enough over your heads to have their blasts be 'within the frame' of the windows. And the blasts could simply be part of the video seen outside, but percieved to be coming from right over your head because of the 3D effect.

Since we know the ride doesn't use glasses, I guess this could be a giant version of the same projection-on-a-fan tech that the stormtroopers are using?

Sure seems like a lot of fan hardware you'll have to hide somehow.
