Yes! They showed this to me! When I asked if this fan technology would be used in the pre show for the Vi/Rey hologram effect, I was shot down and was told that the pre show effect is achieved using peppers ghost

I also asked if real sparks would be used in the AT AT room (like shown in the promo)... They said it was unlikely but also said that these fans could easily display spark effects as well...

Those patents showing how lasers/light will travel through air look very confusing. I asked a source and the best way they could explain it to me was this... You guys remember playing with those cool LED fans as kids that would say words? Well apparently they will have dozens of these *huge* fans (they pointed to a large round table seating 10 ppl as a reference) spinning very fast in a single room.. they'll spin so fast you wont even see anything there... but will project lasers traveling through thin air when being shot at. Not sure how accurate their analogy is to the real thing but they've been working in the show building for a while, so I trust their judgement.

I was on Astro Blasters the other night and noticed almost the same tech being used in the finale scene where Buzz is shooting Zurg.. I would *guess* that the tech is probably a more advanced/more legit version of this effect.

I can't help look at the interior images of this attraction and think it reeks of Star Wars, old and new. OK the 'geeks' may want an exact replica of an OT Star Destroyer or the Death Star, but that would be next to impossible. What I do feel is that entering this attraction is going to feel as close to the movies as is possible and had they opened the land with this operating, that we wouldn't have had the complaints we've had about it not 'feeling' right.

Time will tell of course but I imagine that if you rode this attraction first to get that immersion, that for those who were less than impressed with the land may find things slightly different.

Yesterday they extended hours for some days in November and December It doesn't look anything specific to Rise of the Resistance, though. I was hoping for earlier starts. Hopefully they'll add them later?

They actually made that adjustment a few weeks ago, that site just didn't notice until yesterday. Hopefully there are some substantial additional hours through at least that first weekend of RotR opening.

It was the only place I'd seen it. When I looked at Blog Mickey it had the same series of updates for MK, HS, and AK, but they only had November info for HS. This website still has HS listed as closing at 8pm Dec 2-14 so I guess plenty of folks missed it.
