Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance

Was going through some videos from my last trip, and here's a clip I recorded of the cannons in A-mode lite (only 1st cannon moving)!
Even with just one of the cannons moving, adds a lot to the scene...

This is one of the last few times the WDW cannons ever moved. As far as I can tell, sometime around end of December 2021 to January 2022, it went to B-mode permanently where none of the cannons moved (again).

This clip I personally recorded was on December 20, 2021.

It makes me wonder if they were colliding with vehicles. I've heard rumors of bumping vehicles in Ratatouille, though the reason attributed to this was that it's an older ride system (in that Disney did absolutely nothing to change how the vehicles operated when they cloned it over to Epcot, despite the technology having advanced since the initial ride in 2014). Still, I wouldn't be surprised to find out something like this had happened.

According to Thrill-Data, Rise has only operated for about 20 minutes so far today.

I don't think they (cannons and RVs) were physically colliding, otherwise we would have videos of that by now.

I just think that if the RVs are off-sync by just a tiny bit, the sensors triggers and E-stop. Whether they tried to mess with that margin of error, who knows. At this point it's probably a hardware issue (in combination with a software issue), which can't really be done overnight. A long refurbishment might have to take place.

DL supposedly tried to find a fix according to an insider on here. But seems like they've too given up as their cannons when to "permanent" B-mode since like March/April. Ours went in December '21/January-ish.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't the Cannons also trackless? Do they need to be?

I believe it's been said here previously that they are on a track. Also, these screenshots from the ROTR behind-the-scenes segment on The Imagineering Story does imply that they are on tracks.

Watching this part again, kinda sad the original vision (for this scene) of these Imagineers were killed off a year or so later..

sooo, are you saying I shouldn’t make this the priority when utilizing our 30 minutes for EE? I would hate to waste it standing in line for the ride to never open…
Well that depends, is it a ride you must ride because if it is you have 3 options in the morning:
1. Gamble during ERT
2. Wait 2+ hours and gamble it doesn’t go down while waiting
3. Pay the Mouse for ILL

TBH, we will likely try for #3 first as it is a must-do ride for us, however, we have two days allocated for HS to ensure we get the SW rides done.
