Both WDWMagic and The Mom joined the forums on June 4, 2001

The current iteration of the forums. There was a previous version and I don't believe things such as signup date carried over, since it was actually hosted on a different domain. archive.org has its first copy of the site in May 2000: https://web.archive.org/web/20000510163503/http://www.wdwmagic.com/index1.htm
And here's the copy of the earlier forum version from the same date: https://web.archive.org/web/2000051...force9.co.uk/cgi-bin/UltraBoard/UltraBoard.pl

Rise of Skywalker movie Reaction Link

Click above link to discuss the reaction of media and fans who have seen the movie Rise of Skywalker.
No spoilers, just reaction to what they say and initial thoughts.
It's an important discussion considering Galaxy's Edge doesn't exist without the Star Wars film franchise and Galaxy's Edge uses the new trilogy characters as the emotional base for the land.
Does the film work? Will the film have an affect on Galaxy's Edge? Click above link and discuss if you want. Everyone welcome.

If there is anyone who wants to talk about the new film please click the link. Everyone welcome. Even those who wish to discuss the movies influence on Galaxy's edge.

Good catch.
I get constructive criticism. I actually like it, but the baseless negativity on this board is at an all time high and I've been coming here for 20 years imo.

I know I can be hyper critical at times. It's all opinions so it doesn't bother me much. For some it's a way to vent and for others just opinion pieces to further the discussion. As I've stated here: https://forums.wdwmagic.com/threads...ism-deep-thoughts.962188/page-18#post-8998369 with this ride in particular (again having not ridden it yet) it seems like a solid addition and quality attraction. with a few caveats on show quality. As for negativity, I find that it's an accelerant. If not in check it will turn critiques and constructive criticisms into complaints even if the intent is to just further the community discussion.

I think it reflects how many people no longer have nuanced opinions. They’ve trained their brains to either love or hate, just like buttons on a social media website. Sadly, it seems people are starting to wear that hatred as a badge of honor: “I tolerate everyone as long as they completely agree with me, or else they’re scum of the earth! And I’m ready to trash anyone who doesn’t perfectly match my expectations!”

This has cut across all political persuasions and fandoms, including Disney. It’s immature. It’s also celebrated.

So...back to the ride...

FWIW, my ops friends confirmed they’re controlling the number of boarding groups and guests to make the attraction appear to have less downtime, but that’s also why they’re able to offer “backup” groups for when the ride functions properly. Debugging is expected to take up to a year. Boarding groups aren’t expected to last that long.

Hope this doesn't become a regular thing, because the effect of that room very strongly depends on your group being the only ones stepping into it.

Oh noooo. Yeah that can’t happen. Wait longer in the main queue if necessary.
That’s just poor operations. Of the dozen times I rode, I never saw this. Worst was about half the next hall filled.
They apparently had switchbacks set up for it. But it definitely wasn’t like that this morning.

This is typical of WDW middle leadership. “More people inside = more efficient!!!11” and I hope this gets nipped in the bud. That moment is too great to be spoiled like this.
That really grinds my gears. It’s like what they’ve done to the Haunted Mansion stretching room ten fold 😤

And back when we started calling out Disney for the HM load problems, some people accused us of being too nitpicky. This is a proper example of something that needs to be corrected. Fix the HM load while you’re at it too. ;)

I remember disney.force9.co.uk!

I remember before these were boards and were instead an email group! My goodness my inbox would be crazy and I was such a obnoxious (more so than now) 15-year old brat...
Yeah, I remember joining another forum around that age and thinking I knew so much. Time helps you realize how ignorant you were at 15/16 years old! Hahaha

Good observation on the love or hate aspect.
You're correct, it seems so many people feel they must draw a line and pick their side about nearly everything these days.
