So has anybody been caught up with "The Imagineering Story" on Disney+? Because Episode 6 going to be fascinating to watch. Mainly since it will go over Galaxy's Edge, Pandora, and Shanghai Disney Resort. Especially after seeing a preview of that episode.

Yeah currently down. 25 was last group admitted. I have a FP to burn and Boarding Group 28, so hoping to squeeze both rides in prior to noon.

my tip for anyone going forward with this virtual queue: GET HERE AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE.

This way once your boarding party is called, and they scan your band, you can immediately attempt to get into another boarding party (which I was able to do this morning. Initial 18, then got 28).

The longer it takes for you to get to grab a second boarding party, the later in the day it will be, if at all.

I watched a couple of ride thru videos now and have one question. Why is the hangar portion not utilized to house a bunch of people waiting to ride? It looks really cool and well themed, but it seems like it being just a "walk-thru" is a bit of a waste.

Those that got there really early yesterday could linger in the hangar for quite a while, and with only one boarding party there - the immersion was better, the photos were better, etc. As the day wore on, more people backed up in the hangar and it wasn't as cool. They also started "suggesting" that you "finish your scans and move on to your interrogation."

Galaxys Edge and Pandora are just the kind of change I've wanted. But I understand there are those that want a return to the glory days of Mr. Toad and Mickey's Birthdayland.
As someone who super loved and loves Mr. Toad and what it does, I defy you to find anyone who truly thinks Mr. Toad is an objectively superior attraction to Rise. Toad scores high on a conceptual level as a ride - higher than I think many people would think to give it credit for - and I think it's entertainment factor is still solid 60+ years on, but I also think that even those of us with great passion for it are reasonable enough to see the difference here.

Glory days would be living in a time where Walt Disney World can have both Mr. Toad AND Rise of the Resistance, which isn't actually asking all that much. But alas.

Thankfully Disneyland has done well enough by its attractions over the years and still has a Toad that's in bright and colorful shape, wild as ever and soon to be entertaining guests into 2020 . . . alongside Rise of the Resistance.

We can probably all agree that the less that's said about Birthdayland the better.

Yeah, it’s messed up. Guests playing by Disney’s posted rules shouldn’t be punished. I have heard cases of Walt Disney World resort concierge staff rudely and impatiently assuring guests that they posted 9 AM open was the open time. If those guests arrive at 9 AM and are SOL I believe they deserve compensation.

I was one of the gullible guests who believed them. I went to guest services at Hollywood studios and they gave us a ticket to come back tomorrow, so yes they compensated us with another full day at Hollywood studios , decent compensation but not sure if that is a reward or punishment. Will be here at 430 to 5am tomorrow to guarantee access to ride

Ah, makes me wonder though why they didn't just add extra queue line switchback sections in that room though to help with crowd control.

  • DHS opened at 6am this morning. Down by 7am. Still not up as of 9:35am
  • ALL Boarding groups have been distributed by 8:15am for the day!
  • I asked a CM friend and they said "Morning downtime is normal. When we turn it on, it goes down in the morning."
  • They get there at 4am and still have this issue. Its known and they seem to accept it as a normal operational thing.

Well, the entrance is the door of your shuttle - so that awe factor when you first enter is important. Granted, they could line you up to the side quickly... But you're essentially free to roam the hangar and check it out from every angle. Can't do that if you're in a line.

I'd love to know what makes this ride tick... I'm sure there's a way to make sure this downtime doesn't happen -- but I'm sure you'd need some of the engineers to troubleshoot who are probably all shipped out to make sure Anaheim is working.

Oh bother!

We were here about 7.30 and are boarding group 50! Hoping the downtime from this morning doesn’t make it so late we have to leave for other plans!
