Eh... It really doesn’t feel that messy when you are physically in the park. They have a monster amount of attraction and guest relations CMs at Rise to answer questions and deal with guest issues. Break downs seem a fairly natural part of new ride life. And from my point of view, they are offering fair compensation for getting back on the ride or if your boarding group isn’t called.

Clearly they are playing with hours a bit but they are only working with a week of data. The process will never be completely smooth but get up early and you’ll get on at some point.
Preaching to the choir - I was there opening day at 3:45am and rode it a bunch of times that day and those that followed. 😉

I don't think we can expect all of that to be ironed out a week into a ride that had a rushed opening.

The opening hours argument is moot at this point. They are opening within a half hour of the posted time.
Of course they're still fine-tuning; probably will be for some time to come. But like I said, time is running out ahead of the holiday crowd.

I'm not sure how the holidays will affect the ride. It has its daily capacity and it has BGs. So BGs may fill 20 minutes earlier, but otherwise, there will be no impact on how the ride itself runs. More guests won't ride (proportionally), but a greater proportion of guests won't ride FoP, SDD, 7DMT, and Dumbo, too. BGs protect it from the pressure to deliver Christmas Week.

That's why I appreciate that they stuck to the opening day. I'm sure there were Star Wars fans from around the world who came down for the grand opening who would have wasted alot of money if the ride was pushed back a month. It would have left a very bitter taste in our mouths.

That may have been one of the factors in the decision to open on time.
But if I recall, they were originally considering a later date, but Chapek insisted it open on the 5th?

Of course it was. The five fans who were angry at Rivers of Light's delay got over it when they realized it sucked anyway. Star Wars has more than five fans.

I'm not saying the holidays will affect how the ride runs; it is what it is. What I'm talking about is the large influx of people coming - and how tuned the system, overall, is - to get those people riding.

I doubt that there ever was any hope to have it perfectly tuned and running at full capacity by Christmas and that level of crowd - even the best most stable attractions have issues that week.
They didn't even think it was ready to open by December 14, let alone December 5. Time will tell how long it really takes. But again, Christmas is in ten days and the number of guests will only increase going forward until after the holidays.

The total number of guests Christmas Week 2020 won't get to ride, either. Or 2021. Or 2022. Or 2023. 🤷‍♂️

If you wanna ride, you gotta work.

No one will care if you look like this at the Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular at 1 pm:
