Star Wars not so popular or changes already being made?

Forgive me if this has already been mentioned. If it hasn't, please don't shoot the messenger. I'm usually not privy to insider info, rumors, possible news, etc. (Since the CM who provided this info reads these boards, this may be the only time I would be able to share anything anyway.)

The CM we spoke with the other night (who told us about the band change for RNRC) also said that Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular is being cancelled. She said it wasn't making the money they thought it would. I'm wondering if she meant the actual fireworks or the dessert party. (Honestly, we were still processing the shock of the upcoming changes to RNRC at the time to clarify, since that was said with such certainty.)
She also said that the Jedi Training Academy was ending.
She didn't say why to either item. Could it be financial or could it be changes due to the future?
No way they are getting rid of the Jedi Academy.
My 3 1/2 year old son doesnt seem to think so either. This pic was taken yesterday.

I'm not buying it. Especially from a CM.

I believe they have probably seen some sales fatigue and backlash from too many IPs (especially Guardians replacing tower of terror in California) but when I go to the parks I see people loading up on Star Wars and Marvel merchandise.

Why not just Mickey and never Kylo? :D
Is this your new campaign now that you've given up on Cars Land? (You have given up Cars Land, haven't you?)

Star Wars is here. Get used to it. Hubby and I are in our late 40's and we enjoyed the Star Wars offerings so much that we went back to DHS for an unscheduled third half day, during our most recent trip.

He's itching to go back already. Wants a couple of days at Disney Springs, a couple of days at DHS, and a couple of days at the resort. He couldn't care less about the other three parks.

I showed my boss all of our Star Wars pics, and he asked me to forward them so he could show them to his Star Wars obsessed 3-year old. He says he's absolutely got to take him. Forget Mickey, the toddler loves Chewie and the StormTroopers.

Before checking out, we booked a Bounceback Offer for the exact same ten nights next September. Upon seeing our pics from DHS, our 20 year old is upset that we didn't book a second room.

So there you have it. Star Wars is still ticking all the boxes for a lot of people - anecdotally, a 3-year old boy, a 20-year old Star Wars junkie since he was 3, and a middle aged couple.

I personally, can't wait to see what the future holds for Star Wars. Neither can this guy.

(yes I am done with Cars Land)

The thing that makes Disney Parks special is that they are a great mix of stories being brought to life. The Star Wars movies provide great entertainment, and yes, Disney should show it off, but they shouldn't overuse it in their theme parks.

Look what it has to offer so far and what it will offer:

1. 3 Star Wars Launch Bays
2. Star Wars Fireworks
3. 10 month long Season of the Force
4. Multiple Star Wars shows
5. Star Tours
6. Shops with nothing but Star Wars
7. Star Wars music playing by the Chinese Theater every day
8. Hyperspace Mountain at Disneyland (yeah it's returning), Hong Kong Disneyland, and about to be at Disneyland Paris
9. Star Wars characters waling around with guns ready to blow fire
10. COMING SOON: Two Star Wars Lands!

Let's take a look at what it is really. I view it as people in bathrobes with glow sticks fighting one another in a depressing war that never ends. (Bob Iger said Star Wars movies will never end so...*cough* overusing it *cough*)

Here's why people are so attracted to it: Group thinking.
One Star Wars ride is okay. Leave it at that. Simple, plain easy.
But no. They want the group thinking public to buy into their Star Wars even more by overusing it.

You all think Walt Disney was about over using such things? No. And he certainly wouldn't be over this ridiculous space franchise.

One thing Disney is great at is restrained and judicious use of IPs.

Seriously though, what is happening at DHS is a laughable train wreck. And Disney knows it, and has just decided to bully it's way through the hard times flinging temp stuff at the wall and seeing what sticks until SWL opens.

That manager might be better informed that the 'Star Wars' obsessed realize, Wall St may be pushing back on doing Star Wars in BOTH parks and saying 'Let's see how successful the Anaheim SWL is' before we greenlight one for Orlando, Plus China wants expansion and well money is fungible there is no 'lock' on that money being used for Orlando SWL if Wall St tells Iger it wants it spent elsewhere. This of course will create a self-fulfilling prophecy for attendance as attendance will drop at the construction wall park and Wall St will take that as proof that Star Wars land would have been a bad investment in Orlando.

Please Iger sell WDW to OLC and do it SOON!

I'm sorry but what are you guys on? The movie sales, the toy sales, the merchandise sales.. Have you seen any of the numbers? They have shattered every record in existence.

Have you been to an elementary school lately? You will see a sea of Star Wars back packs..attached to that backpack is a SW lunch box. Inside the backpack is Star Wars folders and notebooks.

Have you been to a home that has a boy under age 10? I challenge you to NOT find at least one light saber. Or at least one item of SW themed clothing.

Did you see the streets last Halloween? The Force Awakens wasn't even out yet and there was scores of SW costumes..I think there will be more this year.

I mean it's one thing not to like something, but can we stay in reality?? There is no way that Disney could be second guessing the presence of Star Wars in their parks.

You know how kids say that "older people are out of touch". This thread is proof positive of that. ;)
