Star Wars not so popular or changes already being made?

Forgive me if this has already been mentioned. If it hasn't, please don't shoot the messenger. I'm usually not privy to insider info, rumors, possible news, etc. (Since the CM who provided this info reads these boards, this may be the only time I would be able to share anything anyway.)

The CM we spoke with the other night (who told us about the band change for RNRC) also said that Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular is being cancelled. She said it wasn't making the money they thought it would. I'm wondering if she meant the actual fireworks or the dessert party. (Honestly, we were still processing the shock of the upcoming changes to RNRC at the time to clarify, since that was said with such certainty.)
She also said that the Jedi Training Academy was ending.
She didn't say why to either item. Could it be financial or could it be changes due to the future?

Judging by the crowds last night and the ridiculous amount of people wearing and buying Star Wars stuff, I highly doubt it. Star Wars is keeping that park afloat right now. The CM may just be confused since the show will be interrupted during the holiday season as Jingle Bell, Jingle Bam runs.

My personal opinion is that SW will be part of the Disney parks for years to come. Investment in dedicated lands at the Stateside parks is the obvious evidence of this for me and then all the film and merchandise opportunities for just the start No doubt they will tweak, change, enhance, refine shows and park attractions etc but you won't get away from seeing SW and Disney together, they are bound by the Force now !

Oh and for me personally I'm perfectly happy with that being a huge SW geek

Disney is going to cram so much Star Wars down our collective throats that we will be begging for Frozen stuff in the park. I love it now but in 5 years when they throw the Jar-Jar Binks people mover at us, I will be quite done.

Don't think for a second that Disney wont try to squeeze every last cent and exploitable thing from the Star Wars Franchise.

And if there is one fan base that will eat it all up, it's Star Wars.

I mean, look at how successful Star Wars weekends was before Disney purchased them, when the only media being released was mediocre-rated TV show spin off. In spite of the huge drop in general toy sales of all kinds, has had a continuous toy line since 1995.

People just can't get enough Star Wars - and will be flocking to the studios for many years just to experience it.

Hey now, The Clone Wars was pretty well acclaimed in spite of the rocky start that was the pilot movie. Lot of people think Dave Filoni should be put in charge of the franchise as a whole.

Acclaimed, yes - but I meant literal ratings, as in how many people watched. It certainly wasn't driving Star Wars Weekends attendance levels like the new theatrical films have and will.

One of the highest rated shows on Cartoon Network during its run. Of course, it came during the time the CN execs were fumbling around with shoehorning live-action shows onto a channel for cartoons.

Everything no matter how popular reaches a saturation point. Disney whose only concern is monetizing the brand unfortunately will ignore this and force it at us with intensity of a fire hose.
