Yes
IMHO, (day 2 of opening) it was Wattos Grotto with a Wookie and a Vader squeeze meet and greet. It was worth it for my wife to get a hug and photo with Chewie, but then we left for the Tune in Lounge.

I'll link to it if I can but Orlando Sentinel had an article up and it seems Mangum is suggesting this exhibit is permanent but things will be switched out to keep it updated. And Chewbacca and Vader aren't necessarily going to always be there, so get those photos in. And they also defend the cheap design as deliberately not wanting to put you into the world. LOL. Seriously. But anyway ... it is what it is. I'm looking forward to judging it for myself soon. It's alright for what it is. COULD more effort have gone into it? Absolutely. Is it what they claimed it would be? Yes it is. So ... is what it is.

I've heard it described as a "one Man's Dream" but Star Wars style.

Since it's now 'permanent' now I'm REALLY worried about the quality of SWL going forward

I'm not. I don't think the quality of one will have anything to do with the other. I think they'll do Star Wars justice when it comes to the land. Micechat had their usual article and the dark ride, I'm assuming it will be the same on both coasts, could impress. And visually WDI has proven they can at least deliver on the outside. It's the inside that's lacked.

Look at Pandora/Avatar. Visually, it's looking like it will be stunning. I'm sure SWL will be visually impressive. If they fail to do this franchise justice then I don't know what to say.

Being temporary should be an excuse. Temporary exhibits of higher quality, which doesn't just mean lots of ornament and decorations (this isn't a themed experience), are made all the time.

We shouldn't base a final product on concept art. Concept art is exactly that...and the final product doesn't/won't necessarily represent the artwork...
Just because people call all promotional art "concept art," that doesn't mean all promotional all was made during concept development.

Anyone else hearing sci fi diner is going to bite the dust in favor of a Star Wars eatery? Much like what happened last year during Star Wars weekends except year round.

Exactly! That's what I imagined SWLB would be and what I thought it looked like from the photos- how many people loved One Mans Dream/stated it as a must do- and complained when it left? Yes, it was about Walt and I know that was an integral part of its importance to people... But this to me looks exactly like what it is, OMD but Star Wars. And there's nothing wrong with that- it wasn't advertised as a Star Wars Land preview.

Yes but how permanent can this possibly be? From what I heard, this'll just a preview center until the land opens. If they did in fact say it was permanent, they must mean semi as in it may be here in 5 years but it probably won't in 10.
