The thing that puzzles me is that the people that are "fighting for their side" really are not getting past the modern myth about the parks, such as Uni being not for kids, Disney being only for kids (which the latter personally drives me crazy), Disney is neglecting their theme parks, and either Uni is the leader of innovation or Uni has second rate attractions. If you are going to fight for your side, make a convincing case!!;)

Oh, and to respond to @PrincessNelly_NJ, I do have emotional memories and attachments to Uni...but not posotive ones:confused::depressed:
Whose fighting for sides? If you go back, you can see that my only issue was when "Chef Mickey" stated that Universal's content sucks and Harry Potter sucks and most people don't even go to Universal.
I go to Disney for longer and more frequent trips than Uni. I enjoy them both, but to say that any place sucks just because it is of no interest to you is absolutely ridiculous. There is nothing to convince.
Sorry if you don't have positive memories of Uni but then again... plenty of people have good/bad experiences at Disney... Six Flags... anywhere.

Uni will never build the future nostalgia as long as Disney is around. The reason for that is Disney is stereotyped as the children park, so people will take their children to Disney instead, causing all the fond little memories to form there. And idk anyone who gets pleasuring feelings from thinking back at Shrek or slime...o_O

The only way to settle this is for Disney and Uni to go to nuclear war
1. Uni already is building nostalgic things... what you do seem to realize is that the children growing up today will always remember these "new movies/rides" at Universal. Harry Potter, Men in Black, Simpsons, Jurassic Park, and etc are all apart of my childhood and I'm only in my 20s... You might not care about those things but others will... who knows where Disney or Uni will be in years to come to say that "people will take their children to Disney instead"..??? No one knows what people in the future will and won't do.

2. And yes, I do enjoy the memories of watch my sister get slimed. Getting picked to participate in a Nickelodeon show back then was super exciting! I watched her and my dad do all sorts of funny obstacle courses and in the end she got slimed. So excuse me if my personal memories disturb you but I truly do not care.

Even silly gifs don't dispute the numbers. Disney's biggest problem right now is they are too popular and it's hurting their ability to change because management can't get out of their own way. Universal is in acquisition mode because they are trying to get on Disney's level. Still, Disney added more net guests to MK than Universal did. Darn those facts!!
You see, everything I have said has gone over your head. So there are no more words to explain that your opinion is not a fact.
Your opinion that Universal sucks is not, will not, nor was, or ever will be a fact.

Sure I am biased too. But you knew that. And you seem to be telling me my opinion is wrong. Im all for a good old fashioned debate, but I don't want to anger anyone, which seems like might be happening. Oh well

Btw--you had a 1. but then never had a 2. ;)

I never said your opinion was wrong... you stated that "Uni will never build the future nostalgia as long as Disney is around." and I said was that Uni is building rides that will be considered nostalgic in the minds of today's youth even if you don't care about those things. I also stated that no one knows where people will take their children because no one knows the future.

and I did have a 2. check your own reply to me ;)

Lol. Not to butt in, but your quote of her post has a 2 in it lol... plus, I don't see a place where her post says that it's been edited, as would normally be there if an edit had occurred. :p

This thread is funny. :hilarious:
It is, isn't it?! But my quote of her post has no 2... I just edited it to change the spelling of "Oh well" from "vOh Well":) But I swear there was no two!!!

I can't get over how often I read people acting like Universal is in the drivers seat with their Potter stuff.

Let's get real...Universal is doing some nice things and Disney DOES need to step up their game, but Universal is still far behind.

Disney is still king of content and even if they take their sweet time with Star Wars, the content is already better.

Harry Potter just sucks.
Stop presenting opinion as fact.

By saying the content is better, when that is obviously a matter of opinion. I think star wars is a better IP for me but potter is better for someone in their late teens. They are two worlds literally built from nothing. Having said that, the potter sections of universal and ioa look better than anything in any disney park. And I will take universal or IoA over any single park on Disney property with a slight exception for MK but at this point I don't like MK as much anymore so even that is argueable.

I said the numbers don't lie...those are facts that can't be disputed. Harry potter sucking is of course my opinion, but let's not act like the numbers are out of this world for Universal and they are the clear favorite. The numbers still say Disney is King and the number 1 choice for consumers, by far. Again, MK added more guests and expanded their lead in attendance numbers. Disney just dominates in attendance and financially.

The other stuff is just discussion and good discussion at that.

What, do I need a disclaimer in every post remind you it's my opinion? I thought we all had our opinions and we came here to discuss them? Geez...I might have strong or forceful opinions, but I'm certainly not purposely trying to factualize them.

Of course it's an opinion that Potter sucks and Disney is king of content. However, there are reasons to support my statement about the content.

Don't get so caught up in opinion versus fact...most things you'll read on a discussion forum will be opinions.

They are definitely the leader, but I can tell you that they will be hurting when people's 7 days at Disney turns into 5 or 6. It is happening because it happed with me. I never had any desire to visit universal then when disney didn't build anything that appealed to me since DAK, I was interested in giving universal some of my attention. My next visit to florida will be another work trip where I have 1 day to spend on myself. It will be at universal again. I was a huge wdw fan up until very very recently but it's clear they dont want to try. They are exclusively going after families with little kids, the easiest group to impress.
