The music at Wizarding World is my only issue with the lands.

Hearing the soundtrack from Goblet of Fire kinda ruins the feeling that I’m actually in Hogsmeade.

I’m hoping SWGE has an unique BGM that fits the planet.

John Williams’ score should be played only in the attractions, in my opinion
one of the brilliant things about Pandora is the lack of music in the land in most places. They do play music around Pongu Pongu and Satuli but out in the land you hear animal sounds, really well done
my sense is you ll hear music in the land at least around the market place and food and bev

The drum show is great too and adds a lot of life to the land.

This is what I am hoping they do with SW:GE. If they are going for full on immersion, music better come from a band. Any BGM should be the sounds of the city (eg crowd noise, traffic. etc).

Some live music is nice, but background muzak is such a defining quality of Disney parks, it feels essential. Personally, the John Williams music helps immerse me in Hogsmeade even more, since I associate the music with the characters so strongly.

Exactly. I mean, if you're "in" a Harry Potter movie, wouldn't you expect to hear the Harry Potter music? I really disagree with the notion that the music needs to be diagetic in order for an experience like this to work, I think that's taking "immersion" to an unnecessary extreme (for example, I think the thrill of walking through Pandora and witnessing the floating mountains would have been enhanced if it was underscored by snippets of James Horner; I found it odd that the land itself didn't have any real music). I feel like something would be missing to be walking through Star Wars Land without hearing John Williams.

The point of music in film is to emphasize the emotions of the characters. So, if this is our adventure and we're the characters, why shouldn't we have our own music?

Hmmm...
Interesting thoughts.
It is true that if we were in an actual Star Wars locale, we would not be hearing Star Wars music.
Then again, there's music in the movies and if we were actually viewing the action live there wouldn't be music either.
I'm thinking that Star Wars music can and will be worked into the land that'll vary depending on where you are.
I wouldn't expect it in the marketplace, for instance but I could imagine it at ride cues perhaps or at the entranceway.

I guess you could call the whole American project Delos. Though there is a clear distinction between I and II if you’re discussing it.
It was a Star Wars joke, I gather. Obi Wan infamously explains away his withholding information from Luke by saying, “What I told you was true...from a certain point of view.” Ever since then, in Star Wars, the phrase “From a certain point of view” = BS. ;)

Example:
“Horizons did close due to a sinkhole...from a certain point of view.”

James Horner was going to write music for the land before he died in the tragic plane crash.

You guys should listen to Foxxy’s Another Musical Souvenir of Walt Disney World. Completely changed how I understand theme park music as a genre and how it contributes to the total experience of a themed environment.
This is essential, and Passport to Dreams is a treasure trove for any theme park fan. I don't really agree with some of her views, but she and Marni are probably my favourite theme park historians on the internet.

And a follow up to that:

Does Disney already have plans for a second Star Wars planet to be made into a land?

Considering they’re following HP’s footsteps in every turn for this project, I can’t imagine them not having at least thought of a 2nd SWL
Indiana Jones stunt show area and you still have Star Tours

Yeah, I’m all for more Star Wars in DHS, but I want them to at least replace all the shows and build something new (non-Star Wars) where Launch Bay is first. There needs to be balance, and there are still a lot of gaps to be filled before they go gung-ho with more Star Wars. Besides, with a new trilogy just now on the way, there’s plenty of time.

Star Wars land is the new name of the park:)
