So SWL in DL will be open by end 2017, or early 2018?
I'm no insider, but my gut says they open both lands within a year of each other. I don't buy the 18 to 24 months apart either.
Right now Guardians is the latter half of 2020, SWL WDW latter end of 19.
That sounds promising. I know there's a lot of work still to do, but that could set WDW up for a pretty nice 4 or 5 year stretch with pretty substantial new offerings.

It does pleasantly sound like that will be the case:
2017: Pandora
2018: Toy Story Land
2019: Star Wars Experience
2020: GotG

With possible the "Phase 3" E-ticket for DHS tossed in at the end and maybe other stuff in Epcot. Hopefully, at least a new parade and fireworks for MK for the 50th, if not some new build there. It seems like they at least want to have a bunch of stuff rolled out leading up to the 50th as a grand celebration.

And don't forget at least 2 more DVC additions:confused::confused::confused:

I had to, we were getting a little too positive here:rolleyes:;):)

I forgot about the mystery phase 3 for DHS. I do think we will also get some general touch ups leading up to the 50th.

Miceage has been very clear in repeated "Updates" that the Disneyland version has a goal of opening by Christmas, 2018. Miceage Updates have been the Gold Standard for all info regarding Star Wars Land for Disneyland, including their famous map released last year that looks more accurate by the day with every construction photo on fan blogs and every official piece of artwork released on the Parks Blog. So there's no good reason to question the Miceage assertion that Disneyland's version will open in December, 2018.

As for DHS, you can take the optimistic view of @marni1971 and extrapolate that means December, 2019 for DHS. Or you can take the more pessimistic (realistic?) view of the Spirit and extrapolate that means Fall, 2020 for DHS.

Either way, Disneyland's version still opens way before the DHS version. And it will be a near carbon copy of the Disneyland original.

I'm really not that sure how Martin's "view" is too optimistic. He's still got it opening a year later and progress at DHS currently looks right along that path compared to DL, which still hasn't gone vertical for the actual Land. The only vertical construction so far is for the River/Train.

I believe DHS wants TSL up and running first. I'm going to compare progress with SWL by watching the DLR's ROA / Railroad vs. WDW TSL.

Kind of. Needs to be a bit flatter (all major show buildings parallel to the parks current toll road) and also flip it horizontally. DHS will be a mirror image of DL. But yes, battle closest to Muppetvision and Falcon closest to World Drive.

What do you mean by flip it horizontally? Do you mean the battle attraction will be on the right and the market on the left?

So Battle Attraction is the blue area, while blue and red circles swap places? Btw, what is the red circle then?

And again, really understand if you can't say.

But that's not the TDO way!

Because TDO is made up of people, who come and go over time, it'll be interesting to see how (if) the culture (which is often embedded in a company by local administration) changes with Bob Chapek in charge. To quote @WDW1974 , Spirit notes...

" Yup, time for a bit of a summer special as Bob 'Chappie' Chapek -- the dude who heads Disney P&R, better known for his amazing ability to sell all things Marvel and make Ike 'I really don't like Bob Iger' Perlmutter a fan -- has been making all Florida based Disney execs VERY nervous with his well-known bias toward the way TDA runs its house." (emphasis added)

and...

"This is part of a strategy direct from Chappie as Chapek favors the Anaheim way of doing things and according to someone with direct knowledge ''thinks the WDW operation has gotten sloppy and lazy and their execs need to spend more time in California to learn how the DLR is managed and operated. It's a message that is hard to swallow for many WDW folks, but Chapek is unrelenting and has made it clear he thinks Anaheim is doing it better. Phil Holmes is only the first in a series of WDW execs who will be making a pilgrimage to Anaheim soon.

This really is major news because typically WDW execs simply don't visit their SoCal kewler cousins." (emphasis added)

Take a look at the sketch I drew (I have no idea where it ended up though!)

Battle attraction closest to Muppetvision. Falcon ride in the building next door to the west. Market mainly in front of the falcon ride and curving around to the tunnel (at ground level) under the berm into TSL.

Actually, does this help?
