Star Wars Land announced for Disney's Hollywood Studios

In between TSL and Star Wars? I don't see it, as they will be basically right next to each other. I do agree that it potentially leaves a sizeable plot of land around Catastrophe Canyon (as well as the triangular undeveloped land outside the current park limit but inside the current toll gate road) which could be used for the mysterious Phase 3 if it is coming. That land would be on the far side of Star Wars from TSL.

All indications are that the building and canal I have marked below are not going anywhere any time soon so it appears that whole corner will not be part of with SWL or TSL. I imagine it will be used as an on-site staging are and maybe construction trailers until TSL and SWL are done.

I envisage "tunnels" into the land from both ends to hide the theming from outside and to give a big theatrical reveal. Plenty of stores and expanded individual make your own sabre / droid stores in "village" style courtyard areas. At least two eateries, themed to familiar locations. One quick and one table service. And the two main attractions. Falcon having multiple indentical rides to boost capacity, and the main one having the mother of all queue areas, both inside and out.

I also imagine given the differences in location between Anaheim and Orlando, any expansion will be to the north as opposed the east.
Very excited to hear more about the "Battle" attraction queue. It sound earlier on that the MF queue was going to be the standout from a queue perspective. In the concept art, where are the entrances to the both the Escape and MF attractions? It looks like they may be flipped from the Micechat article in January (which I know just showed the DL-version of SWL), but I can't tell.

One more question: Is DHS more likely to get a SWL expansion than DL? I remember hearing from one of the insiders that DL may be getting a Frozen E-ticket on the SWL expansion pad in DL.

Some of the concept art and descriptions implied we might get "streetmosphere" cast walking around the area. Do we think something like this might happen or was this just artistic license? I think this is one area where Universal dropped the ball in the otherwise excellently themed HP areas.

Yes, I'd say you can mirror flip the attractions entrances from the DL version of the art.

That's not intentional, nor the plan.

As it stands all current expansion is within existing boundaries.

If this is true, that is awful news.... Anyone have the attraction count of what is being lost to what is being gained. If the park is already considered a 1/4 day park they are not doing much to change that, basically just swapping out attractions. Does anyone else feel this way?

The equation isn't as simple as ride count. Swapping out attractions can be a net gain if you swap out less popular ones with more popular ones. Also, if Star Wars land is as detailed and immersive as it sounds then it will soak up more people then just what the two rides alone would have done.

I completely agree, which is why I am asking if anyone else is feeling like the net gain doesn't actually add up to a gain; especially in light of news that there may not even be an expansion of the park. The DCA re-do saw actual expansion if I am not mistaken. I am happy things are in motion and construction is on the way, it so far feels very lackluster to me in terms of fixing the park.

The park is being expanded, a lot of Toy Story Land is in an area that was backstage.

I had a dream last night.

So I took the publically released art and fiddled around with it.

For no particular reason...
looks pretty awesome, thanks for the post. It's nice to see what the land might look like in a few years. I still wish Star Tours will be part of the land. With all of the movies coming up, I would think they could use the muppetts area and movie theatre for future movies promotions and cool park only 3D movie. Grad to hear LMA demo has started
