Star Wars Land announced for Disney's Hollywood Studios

So if all of this is right about the location of SWL, I wonder if maybe we can keep IJSS and take over some of Echo Lake for an Indy Land.

I would absolutely love an Indy ride and themed area, but I don't feel like a "behind the scenes" stunt show goes along with an immersive "live the movie" ride.

That said, would love to see an Indy centric Phase 3. Or even an "action" themed land that features Indiana Jones.

Would phase three now be Indy, Star Tours and backlot express. They could keep this area the same until the SWL and TSL open and then close these for phase 3. What about this:

Makes sense to me. That is about the 14 1/2 acres. And the width of streets of America is pretty good when you remove the facades, which are wider than I expected.

Why would you want that when you could get rid of IJESS as it no longer fits as they are removing 'how movies are made' and build out over IJESS into the car park. For you know a real expansion.
That was my other thought, the one I actually want to happen actually. I was just interested in knowing about that area as I wouldn't be surprised if they try to cheap out and build a mini-land while not removing IJESS.

I was thinking the same thing. There is no reason why the Star Tours simulators couldn't be moved into a new show building in the new land. And then the old show building, Backlot Express, and Indy area becomes phase 3.

I feel like SWL was supposed to go on echo lake. Budgets were cut which means phase 3 is gone. Then they just decided to toss SWL in that area (that's huge and almost half of the park) because they had already started clearing out. Anybody else feel like this is likely??

Maybe I'm misinterpreting something, but didn't the original DHS expansions permits indicate that the "main" entrance was being rerouted and that the boundaries of the park would expand in the south/southeast direction? If that's still the case, surely there's enough room to go behind Muppets and connect Star Tours and LMA without any major issues.

Things can be inferred from the permit, but it doesn't say a lot for sure. The permit does say that the wetlands labeled W12.22 and W12.2A will be turned into parking. The recent revision to this permit show the plans for getting fill dirt into that are so it's clear they still plan to do something with those area, which is probably parking, but that could have changed. The permit does show a rough drawing of a new entrance road coming from the intersection of Osceola and Victory to right around where it says Wetland W12.1E. Note that this was put on the permit for reference purposes only and is not actually part of permit so it could change.

Star Tours will stay although I suppose they could retheme it depending on the theme of Phase 3. An Indy-themed Phase 3 would be phenomenal for the park.
I was just thinking the same thing. An Indiana Jones ride like in DL or the coaster like in DLP would be another great addition, and they could even keep the stunt show if they wanted to.

A stunt show doesn't need to have the behind-the-scenes angle. It could just be a show.

Not an "engineer" or "park planning specialist", but if, in fact (and it isn't a "fact" yet) SWL is going in the back, this plan makes the most sense of anything I've seen yet. The close proximity of ST to the entrance to the "main" land is such that with a slight redrawing of the lines, ST would still be "connected" to the new land, just not "imbedded". I (and I think a lot of other fans) would be very disappointed if they completely did away with the SW of Episodes 1-6 in favor of all "new SW".

I believe this to be a good option but they would have to move the road first to expand the park around the back of muppets courtyard like this:

The SoA area could be used for construction staging for both TSL and SWL then eventually be its own phase.

Just a thought[/QUOTE]
This isn't just a "good option." It's a GREAT option.

With any "option" that involves going around back of Muppet plaza... what about delivery services for Mama Melrose and Pizza Planet? They would be getting deliveries every day at the service entrance back there.
