Well when the internet pounds into people's head that the place will be packed for the next few years, people stay away. Scary the power that social media has. People are such sheep.
Disneyland is going to be great place to visit this summer!
I don't think people are staying away for fear of crowds. People are staying away because they simply can't get into GE without reservations. (Unless you're disinterested in GE) What's the point in going to Disneyland right now if you don't have a GE reservation?
June 24th will provide the clearest picture of GE's demand.
I wonder how many no shows they are getting. You didn't have to have tickets to reserve and I'm sure there were wishful thinkers out there that thought they would go.
I’m beginning to wonder if Disney relied more on APs for regular attendance, plus reservations for Star Wars Land means casual tourists don’t want to pay full price without Star Wars Land. They should have just have a shorter soft opening and not blocked out APs. They just have to wait this thing out.
I think the full peak pricing is depressing attendance. The off season days used to be summer weekends and i think DLR is seeing an extension of that. Most families were saving like 200-300 dollars by avoiding the peak listed days.

Oh yes definitely! I just looked how much would it go to Disneyland the day of our reservation and its $149!!!! Thats just ridiculous. So a family of four would be paying $600 for one day at the park. And that doesn't include parking, food and merchandise. I have had an AP for the last year so I haven't been paying attention to how much the prices have gone up.
For anyone who just want to go to the parks every few months, 4-5 times a year, the APs look like an incredible deal. Its not worth buying the Signature passes but Deluxe and below is great. And the Flex pass looks like a steal, especially now. For anyone who thinks APs or monthly payments will ever go away, check out how dead the parks currently are without them. This is exactly what the parks would look like most of the year. Sure good for people who can afford to go but bad for everyone else, especially Disney who probably needs a certain number of guests to justify running all the rides and entertainment in the place and why they want to pack so many in.
Thats exactly what Disney is trying to avoid, but they only have themselves to blame making day passes out of reach for a lot of people out there.
Do the lightsabers come apart (can you detach the blade and hilt)? My main concern with buying one would be it getting broken or stolen on the way home. It's too big to fit in a suitcase and awkward to carry around an airport, through security and have next to you on a plane.
So I did some sleuthing to try to figure out the deal with the multiple missions for Millennium Falcon: Smuggler's Run. I'm putting some spoiler tags up just because the images will make the post super long
Our first images come from a short video segment of The Wonderful World of Disney: Disneyland 60, which had Harrison Ford introduce some concept art and videos. The concept art is mostly outdated, it had the general feel of the land down, including spires, but still had the Imperial Lambda Shuttle instead of the Tie Fighter that was shown in the model, which morphed into the Tie Echelon when the land opened.
The interesting thing is that there were two videos shown, one of Rise of the Resistance, and the other of Millennium Falcon. From what we've seen of Rise, the concept video of that seems to be actual footage from a rendering of the finished ride.
Image from the ride, note the lights on the gray wall
Still from video in Disneyland 60, only difference is lighting above the entryways
2017 concept art released, lighting on wall different, still pretty accurate
Star Wars and Marvel are the only singular properties they own that are on the level of HP. However, as mentioned before Marvel has the problem of being only a slight twist on our world (outside of their galactic properties) which makes theming a land (not a ride) around them difficult. The only other properties I would put on the level of HP, would be Jurassic Park/World, DC Comics, Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones, the first has been mismanaged and allowed to stagnate by Universal (let’s see if the retheme fixes this,) DC is wasted at Six Flags (the fictional cities of Gotham and Metropolis with their known landmarks make this a better property then Marvel on a theming level,) LOR isn’t for sale and GoT has the problem of being way too adult orientated to work in a normal theme park setting.
For a fully blown Marvel land, I'd say their best bet for exotic theming would be Wakanda. That could be mind blowing. They could also do Asgard but that's been destroyed in the MCU so not sure if they'd want to go there. Several different Guardians of the Galaxy locations could make great lands, but they already have a presence in the parks which is a shame cause they could have done some VERY exotic locations in the parks with that franchise.
We know that at that point the ride was developed, since construction had started. The other video of Millennium Falcon shows a desert location, maybe Jakku or Jedha. It's possible that the footage is just a proof of concept, since they had time to develop the missions while the land was being built, but I surmise that they most likely knew their locations at that point. Was this desert place planned and scrapped? Is it something in development? Or is it one of our three missions that were rumored?

Our next clue to another mission is at Galactic Nights in December of 2017. A panel on Star Wars Galaxy's Edge was held, and another piece of concept art was released. Being so late in the game, less than a year and a half from opening, and less than a year away from test and adjust, I highly doubt they would release concept art of something that they weren't planning on putting in the land. That leaves us with them either cancelling this mission after this point, or it still being in development, and being one of our three missions. I can't tell what location is in the concept art, but it reminds of the creature from the Kessel Run in Solo. To further the notion that they were past the development point of the land, the other images released at the panel mostly include props in the process of being built, and what seems to be the finished hallway of the Falcon, most likely constructed off-site.

Toydarian Toymakers concept art, a bit of outdated concept art, but still very similar to the final product we got
I also found a piece of concept art from 2017 that shows a Star Destroyer in space as well as some Tie Fighters. We do have a Star Destroyer on the ride, but it appears much closer to the surface of the planet, and is definitely not what is depicted here. Past that, we only got images from the current mission. I'll include some of those as well. Some of my theories here are that they were further ahead on this mission, and didn't know if they could get the others ready in time, so they only showed that one. Or they wanted to keep the other ones a surprise. Or they had decided they were only doing one mission. Maybe the went back to the drawing board when Solo bombed?
