Lol yes every young child in 2018 dreams of having a Death Star balloon from the movie they ve never seen from 1977. Disney is selling those balloons to teens and adults. Anyway, back to the point, a bundle of Mickey and Death Star balloons just looks really out of place in Town Square. A chewy face balloon or light up Yoda balloon and I probably wouldn’t have looked twice.
The sheer fact that they made a balloon of the DEATH Star is enough to raise an eyebrow or two.

Presumably it's a balloon that pops, but slowly rebuilds itself, only to get popped again later.

I want a Balloon,

its not fair that they sell all the fun stuff for children, teens and women how about the men. while we are at it, i want to complain about the lack of cool looking shirts for men. has anyone noticed that all the cool designs are made for women and children?

They better redeem themselves when they open SGE and give us some fun stuff we can wear

You'd be surprised how many kids I've seen holding one of those balloons. You'd probably also be surprised how many of those kids actually know what the Death Star is.

Anyways, I get your point of how it doesn't look right to you.... But its just a balloon, its not like they painted the Death Star all over Main St for Star Wars day lol. ;):p

I’ve found a couple good looking T shirts for men in the last few years but they re that Hanes construction cotton material that I hate.

Haha ya they probably do but I’d guess most of them are are pre teen or older. Anyway, sure it’s just a balloon which is why no one is up in arms but it just shows how out of touch they are with their brand and theming at the parks these days.

I guess it depends on how much of a purist you want to be. I've seen all kinds of balloons sold on Main St at night over the years. From Pirates to Jack Skellington to Star Wars to Toy Story. During the day I hadn't seen many on Main St. beyond the traditional Mickey Head and whatever seasonal ones they offer.

Enough of a purist to believe a balloon representing death and destruction shouldn’t be seen in the opening act of Disneyland that was supposed to be a charming and optimistic Main street from the turn of the 20th century. I guess that makes me hardcore.

I agree. Outside of maybe a kids birthday party there's something incredibly cheap about it that tarnishes not only Main Street, but Star Wars as well.

I agree with you. The more land-appropriate each piece of merch sold outdoors in each area is, the better. It's just Good Show. Main St. can never be 100% free of out-of-place imagery, but each bit that sticks to the script helps. Man, I wish DL was being run by someone who actually understood what it's all about.
