Safari and Everest and, now, FoP are among the top rated attractions according to Disney's own surveys (as revealed by our Disney insiders). Festival of the Lion King is just awesome. The animal trails are excellent. Yeah, it's got some stinkers: too short a river ride and carnival rides in DinoLand.

So, if DAK is mediocre to you, then fine. But, be aware, that's a minority opinion. :)

Festival of the Lion King was the old Disneyland Parade floats in a warehouse with pre-recorded tracks. It doesn't fit the land nor is it that entertaining. Everest is decent, but very choppy and the effects never work. I liked Safari when it has the effects. Now, its cool, but I get a similar but more personal experience at San Diego Safari park. The effects they had took a typical Safari Park attraction and added Disney magic. I do want to see FoP. I'm not into screen rides generally, but I have heard amazing things.

Animal Kingdom is my current favorite WDW Park, it’s the only one left with its original integrity intact, it has fantastic attractions and the best shows on property, and I always spend an entire day there. Yes, this is just my perspective, but I can’t stand it when DAK takes such a beating compared to the other three parks in their sorry conditions.

Is there some club you're all a part of that you pledge to refer to FotLK as "just floats". Because that's not true. The floats are just backdrop. There's a full half-hour musical/circus act happening.

At some point, calling FotLK as "floats" needs to be called out for the lie that it is.

I would have liked to see set pieces which fit the show. This might have been fine in Camp Minnie & Mickey, but in Harambe, the giant cartoon parade floats seem really odd. Also the 6 ft Timon is weird and creepy. I would have loved to see something more tribal and theatrical with performers. Its also a tragedy that you have all of these singers and you start the show with the pre-recorded opening to Circle of Life. I get that the WDW shows aren't as good as the DLR shows, but FotLK just came across as really tonally inconsistent and corny.

It's the same thing I saw back in 94 or so and I've seen FOTLK live and was left pretty underwhelmed. It's floats parked in a warehouse with a circus going on. It's a pretty lame show and feels like a placeholder for something else someday. It's like going to see DHS's Beauty & the Beast show that was originally at Disneyland too. It feels completely recycled. Circus acrobats are out of style.

Exactly! I feel that way about a bunch of the shows. Some things are fine when around for a limited time, but if its over 3 years, it should feel a little more substantial. I will also admit that Aladdin spoiled us out here. Seeing shows of that quality at a Disney theme park raised the bar.

Not only is FOTLK overrated, but it's not even the best version of the show. That honor goes to the HKDL production, which manages to outshine the original despite having to be presented in 3 languages simultaneously. The resulting show eliminates much of the overly-talky moments from WDW and instead focuses on making a theatrical spectacle, with tight pacing and memorable musical moments.

Located in the park's Adventureland, the look of the show was completely overhauled to include more African-inspired designs. The parade floats were redesigned with artistic touches, and the costumes were toned down from the 90's neon approach. They eliminated the Tumble Monkeys in favor of a multi-tiered turntable stage that provides a more dynamic show, and allows the floats to be more fully incorporated into the production, rather than staying parked in the corners for the show's duration

WDW's new theater looks great from the outside, but keeping the same tired old show inside is one of Disney's biggest missed opportunities in recent memory. Instead of incorporating successful elements from the HKDL show, updating it to contemporary standards, and revising the aesthetics to fit the new location, they just continued on with their clunky "pep rally" (seriously, what pep rally includes a love ballad?) as if the multi-million-dollar move never happened. But at least they're able to run the show every hour on the hour, which is far more predictable than any of DLR's stage shows, which often struggle to do more than 3 performances daily

Huh, I just learned something. I always for some reason thought the leading edge of the last row of buildings would be a lot further back than it is. There is also that new q shaped building that looks to be guest accessible connecting. That wasn't so clear as the model cuts off around there.

What is interesting about this is that there is actually way more space there than I thought. I don't see why a third attraction of a smaller scale wouldn't be feasible now if they incorporate the temp warehouse down the line.

I know that space is going to be used for SWL someday, but I'd love it if that space, Toon Town, and Fantasyland Theater were all used for a new land all together.
