Until the massive crowds who stayed away decide it's "safe" and throw everything off again. I think you're wildly underestimating how chaotic things will be from summer until at least Christmas time (when they'll only get worse again). I say, enjoy things at DL the way they are while you still can.

I have no doubt its going to be a massive draw, especially the first month or so.

But after that it could become just like how summer months are pleasant now, people's fear of massive crowds. So they'll stay away and then start trickling back over time. Also since there are one on each coast that may have an effect as well.

However I will concede that we just don't know at this point, its all assumptions on our part. It could be wall-to-wall people for 18 months after opening, we won't know until it happens.

Disney is building almost the exact same SWL in three different parks around the world- Anaheim, Florida, and Paris. Hopefully, this stops the whole world of Star Wars fans from swarming Anaheim after the ride opens, and just draws from the local tourist crowds, while Disney World takes the brunt of the tourists.

If they were building three unique lands, it'd be different- but in this cookie cutter approach, the need for fans to go away from their local park is diminished.

You only have to look to Pandora and the queues for Flight of Passage to see what is going to happen at Galaxy's Edge no one is going to stay away for fear of crowds, and if they do it will be a very small percentage. FOP has been open for what a year now and the wait times are still massive, they normally expect wait time to drop 6-12 months after a major attraction has opened but this still hasn't happened yet, Jim Hill in a recent podcast said he can't remember an attraction keeping this kind of queue times for so long.

I mean, Radiator Springs Racers also still holds a massive queue time.... and doesn't Mine Train?

Yeah, but you know they'll all flock to Anaheim since the Star Wars land there will not only be much bigger, but have THREE entrance points.

Have you seen how close Florida's version is to the Muppets building?!

Pandora has the benefit of being the best offering in a mediocre park (much like Cars land in DCA), and is a unique one of a kind experience.

Disneyland is a much more mature park, with tons of great offerings- and Galaxy's Edge is being built in three different resorts across the world.

Yes, it will be busy. Yes, it will be busy for a long time. But I don't think people will be flying in from around the world to experience it like they are Pandora in Disney World.

idiotic muppets closeness = inferior starland crapness

It kind of is. Beautiful theming, but bland attractions.

Safari and Everest and, now, FoP are among the top rated attractions according to Disney's own surveys (as revealed by our Disney insiders). Festival of the Lion King is just awesome. The animal trails are excellent. Yeah, it's got some stinkers: too short a river ride and carnival rides in DinoLand.

So, if DAK is mediocre to you, then fine. But, be aware, that's a minority opinion. :)

I just don't see how Festival of the Lion King is awesome. It's noting more than a bunch of floats from Disneyland circa '94 inside a warehouse. It's way pass it's prime.

The foundation of DAK was built right. In the aftermath of EuroDisney, if you aren't going to build a full day park at a high-quality level, it's better to build a half-day park at a high-quality level (DAK) than a full-day park at a low-quality level (DCA & WDS).

OK, let's unpack that. Yes, there are floats. And they're a very very insignificant part of the show. The show is live singers and dancers with acrobats and circus performers. That's like 95% of the show. So, when you say "it's just floats", well, your opinion isn't opinion anymore. It's an erroneous statement and you just missed what the show is all about.

The can put a torch to those floats and I'll still see the show that's left, over and over again.

Agreed. The music is iconic, the vocal talent is usually amazing, the choreography, acrobatics, and energy is outstanding. I adore FOTLK.
