It seems odd that they would begin adding something so decorative like an AT-AT at this stage of the construction...let alone, putting it "together" in the middle of a giant construction site. Would it go inside the building?!?!?!?
Yeah, I was about to post a similar thought. It would be weird to have an AT-AT looming over the construction zone for two years (give or take)

As a kid, I'd sometimes look ahead in my Lego construction guide and build the "cool" thing that wouldn't fit into the rest of the kit until the end...but I can't see that being the case here.

As Phruby pointed out, the rounded piece next to this does look like the leg joint of an AT-AT.

It's possible that they need the crane to build it. Anything big and heavy needs to be built before walls and roof are added.

If it is an AT-AT, I'm surprised they are building it out of steel beams. You'd think an indoor prop like that would be built of wood, you know, as just part of a set. Might it perform double duty? Like, hide a column supporting the roof through its leg? Nah, that doesn't really make sense.

We should get more SILA and FB updates this weekend, so we'll see if any changes have occurred. I don't know when MiceChat takes their pics, but it was between today and the 7th.

I screen capped this video someone uploaded today...I would upload the whole video, but it never loads beyond 5 seconds...

Anyway...is it just my imagination, or does there appear to be TWO of those AT-AT things?
I've been trying to debunk the second one (on the right) as maybe being the stairs, but it just doesn't look like them.

Any thoughts?

Definitely does look like AT-AT bases, but really could be anything. If it were just some AT-AT props though, would it really need such a strong steel framework? Seems like overkill to me, but I'm also not at all qualified to make such decisions. :D

That might be the two sides of the one structure before they were put together...maybe?

Another possibility of why it is being assembled where it is could be because they can. The steelwork for that part of the building is up, and they have room to do it there without impacting other operations on that busy site.
