Probably something like that. Trying to see where the imperial shuttle is going...

Thought I'd try this composition, but there is so much artistic license going on, I don't think this gets us very far.

In some areas I need to warp the map more, in others I need to warp it less. There just isn't an exact 1 to 1 correlation going on here.

Yeah, that darned artistic license. But I like that overlay for visualization purposes. Well done, and thanks for it.

I just talked to my friend that is working construction. These two structures are indeed AT-ATs. They will be rising from one of the pits inside the ride. The big rotunda will have the queue circle the outside. We don't know what the inside will be.

The falcon building will have the highest rock work in all of Disneyland. Its higher than Cars land. The temporary looking steel structures on the far side are for wdi. When the land is almost finished, the will be turned over to food services and costuming.

Awesome! And I am now officially at the point where I know too much.

I know. This was a very filling day. I feel stuffed.

I don't think that it's going to be very guest accessible. I think walls are going right about here in blue.

I think you're right that quest access will end somewhere about there. Using the Falcon to get our bearings, your blue line would start about where I marked in yellow on this concept artwork:

Hmm, I don't think I agree. Really looking at a high res version of the concept art it's clear the building you guys are cutting off is the same one that people are walking behind, in the concept art. You can see the obvious plaza full of people, but also people cutting behind the building as well.

It however looks like the corner in between the final orange building and MF will be back stage access, obscured by a big pillar.

Of course that all comes down to how much at face value are we accepting the concept art. In land "overview" case it looks pretty accurate. I also just don't see why they'd make one of the 'new' backstage buildings orange but the other one that is far more permanent with steel unlabelled... although still somewhat visible on the master plan.

The other option is the warehouse remains "backstage", but it gets all that facade in front of it, just with no actual content accessible behind. Which now that I think about it might actually be the case. There is a giant closed door in that corner on the concept art.

I actually agree with this as well, though that may seem inconsistent. Let's just say that pigs can be flighty. Where I indicated the guest access may end could well be an entrance to an enclosed, interior guest access corridor, without actually giving guest access to that most rectilinear, and pinkest structure.

Take this as a rule of thumb though: Straight lines are rarely themed walls. Especially straight lines that are parallel with other straight lines.

Another thing to consider is that though we can see the imperial shuttle and gray temple-ish building next to it in the concept art, in real life they might have their backs to the southern Fantasyland - Big Thunder Trail wall. The concept art might be "unfolding" the land a little to give a better view, throwing us all off.

Wow - ok, so I think that explains why these AT-ATs are steel. If they are going to be moving up and down on an elevator all day, they need to essentially be a part of the elevator. Not a prop built on top of a platform. Gotta make those mechanical legs earthquake proof!

If they make a ride that will put me on a battlefield with a life-sized, moving AT-AT - I will spend the rest of my life just riding this ride over and over! :geek:

My guess from different reports my Bothans are collecting is that the completed "pink" building will contain functions that directly support SWL, while the two-story "white" building currently being framed on the corner will house more general support services. This could include facilities costume issue and locker room, tech services, and may even some fireworks support. My rebel spies report that some of their sources have been rather coy about some of these possibilities. A kitchen to support snack stands (called a "Commissary" at DLR) is a definite possibility.
