Why is Yoda there? He’s completely unrelated to every single character on the ship - he never even met Chewie.
I take it you haven’t seen Revenge of the Sith.

As an aside... for any Ahsoka fans, Ashley Eckstein, who voiced her in the Clone Wars and the Last Jedi was there with her husband. She can be seen in a number of vlogger videos (I'm pretty sure they own a home at Golden Oak). As a HUGE Ahsoka fan, I probably would have just tried to hang out and talk to her during this thing.
…creepy…but I can go with it.

She’s like 5’2”….that’s awesome

Am I right in that to book you have to call?

Also how near to your 2 night experience is the full balance due? I assume they require a deposit?

And let's not forget the backside of EE from the AK parking lot...although I believe that is somewhat better now?

Yes that was fixed over a decade ago. Besides slightly disguised cell towers it is the last major example of care given to something that off-putting from the parking lot.

After this came the Iger quick money loves of backstage bus upcharge lines from the theme parks and tent cabanas in Tomorrowland.

but wait, there's this!

Oh, heck. I had just gotten through being kind of impressed with the grand finale. And then you post this. :(

Why?!? This is so off-brand and earthbound for this "immersive adventure".

With a perky CM yelling"AMAZING!!!" just to remind us all that she's really just a girl working a part-time job at WDW while taking 9 units at Valencia Junior College. Someone didn't train the CM's well on who they are actually supposed to be, or how they're supposed to act, or where this actually was taking place.

I hope it’s well done. But as a lifelong fairly hardcore Star Wars nut…I don’t see any scenario where I ever do it. to each their own

Edit: I shouldn’t say no scenario
But the one would be heavy reinvestment/augmentation of both the space barge AND the park land. And I see no realistic path to that.
Yeah - the whole sequel trilogy characters just don't interest me. It's not that I'm against new characters - I'd be curious to see the characters from Rebels or the Clone Wars.

No need to disparage a hard working CM just to impress everyone you think you need to impress here.

I think the main story parts look fun, but some of the other activities look mediocre (at best). I also still think the dining room looks pretty bad, whereas the lounge looks very solid. It feels really up and down in terms of the overall experience.

It seems to me like it might be better as an 8 hour one day experience instead of the two night cruise, where they could focus entirely on the highs without any of the extraneous filler (like dance lessons).

I love that Disney is trying something totally new and hope it inspires them to do more things like this.

I agree that this concept would make for an amazing short experience, I think they could easily sellout a 4 hour experience around lunch/dinner and probably sell it for $500 a person, it may even be more profitable for Disney than the cruise concept.

I’m not a massive Star Wars fan, and honestly had no interest in this, but after watching the review I’m kind of debating it. Life is about experiences, this one looks fun.

If they could immerse me in Coco........... 😍

I don’t think “fun” was the main issue here; it was more about the insane price tag Disney put on that fun.

As the Galactic Starcruiser exists right now, the value simply isn’t there.
Not really FettFan. The people I've disagreed with on here were mainly those who appeared over the top with their determination that this 'experience' was going to be terrible, With most it wasn't a guess, they were calling it without knowing what was going on. I've never said they couldn't say anything they wanted, merely challenged their views or replied to their sarcasm by pointing out errors in the OT story-lines. I have no problem with many who queried it's merit or value to a normal degree, I just found it odd that some were insisting it was terrible without a clue what was going on.

I've agreed that the price is crazy high several times, so I'd have to argue with myself if people saying that was the issue. Several posters who were against it and slating it have actually changed their minds and are saying now they'd consider going if the price was more reasonable. That's fair and I've not quoted one of them to say they were wrong as I've always said let's wait and see what it's like. It's not about who's right or wrong and I'd argue we don't know yet whether it will be a success or failure, time and numbers will decide that. However what we now see with our eyes seems a lot better than some were describing it in my humble opinion.

I think the dance class part looks terribly bad, unless you enjoy dance classes. I think the blaster shots at Rey are not particularly good and the light saber training whilst could be fun, doesn't look as cool as they could have made it. I think that many however have taken delight in little aspects of the experience and then run with being ultra negative about those without thinking let's see how they are in context with the story line. It's not for everyone but I think the ship looks pretty cool on the whole, at least now those that don't agree can at least see and say why they don't like it. That's my honest answer and not everyone agrees which is cool, at least now we're in a position to at least debate in a more factual way than we were yesterday.

No need to disparage a hard working CM just to impress everyone you think you need to impress here. What do you do?

I'm retired. I do light gardening and travel. I'm only here when it pleases and entertains me.

No disparagement, just placing the blame on the CM's training team and on-site management.

Having a perky young lady yell "AMAAAAZING!" at you is not exotic or immersive. It snaps you right out of the Star Wars universe and plops you back in 2022 in a mall, or school gym, or YouTube makeup tutorial.

The CM's here are employees of Chandrila Star Lines, in a different galaxy thousands of years ago. When she teaches her dance lesson, she should take on the persona of that time/place. She should use elegant language and encourage the dancers with words you don't hear constantly in 2022 slang. Instead of yelling "AMAAAAZING!" out across the lobby, she should use words like "Wondrous!" or "Enchanting!" or "You are even better than the Coruscant diplomats we had onboard!"

This is an issue that I lay the blame for directly at the feet of the CM training team and the on-site management for this facility. There is no need for anyone to defend this CM when it's not her fault she has been poorly trained and badly managed for the time/place she is intended to represent.

The thing people forget about this is that 1) People spoke up against the parking lot view of the backside of Everest as the attraction neared opening and showed no resolution - myself included, 2) That it was FAR less egregious than the type of thematic intrusions they've taken to permitting in the last 5 years, and 3) They addressed it immediately!

Here's what the Backside of Everest looked like during Soft Opens when people started complaining - this is basically the worst it ever looked, and could only be seen from all the way across the parking lot:

The non-mountainous parts of the building were then painted to suggest village buildings around the backside of the mountain range - I can't even find a picture of it from the parking lot because the paint treatment made such a difference in camoflauging the unfinished parts of the building, so here's a backstage pic I found that someone took from one of the Disney Race weekends where the route went close behind the mountain. This is NOT a view from a guest-accessible area:

Add to this that after 15+ years the trees in that first photo have basically obscured all but the highest peak of the mountain, and you can understand why no one talks about it anymore.

THAT was considered a significant enough problem that they found new money to fix it. People were vocal enough - there were articles written about how the brand new E-Ticket made such a lousy first impression as you arrived to the park, and pages and pages of discussion here - and Disney agreed enough to make an improvement.

Compare that to the backside of Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge as you arrive for your tremendously expensive boutique Star Wars Experience:

Not to mention that this view is readily visible to many guests making their way up World Drive. It's gonna take WAY more than 15 years before those young trees do any meaningful work to conceal the backside of Batuu.

This is part of what we mean when people talk about the decline in quality. Galaxy's Edge and the Starcruiser represent the highest profile projects in the Walt Disney World Portfolio in the last 20 years, the most expensive in cost for Disney and the Guest, touted as "the most immersive ever" . . . and they couldn't be bothered to instead route the entrance to the Southeast side of the building to spare you being confronted with the farce of it all.

This is a different company than it used to be. The standards have dropped considerably - and 2006 wasn't even a golden age.
