I'm retired. I do light gardening and travel. I'm only here when it pleases and entertains me.

No disparagement, just placing the blame on the CM's training team and on-site management.

Having a perky young lady yell "AMAAAAZING!" at you is not exotic or immersive. It snaps you right out of the Star Wars universe and plops you back in 2022 in a theme park, or school gym, or YouTube makeup tutorial.

The CM's here are employees of Chandrila Star Lines, in a different galaxy thousands of years ago. When she teaches her dance lesson, she should take on the persona of that time/place. She should use elegant language and encourage the dancers with words like "Wondrous!" or "Enchanting!" or "You are even better than the Coruscant diplomats we had onboard!"

This is an issue that I lay the blame for directly at the feet of the CM training team and the on-site management for this facility. There is no need to defend this CM when it's not her fault she has been poorly trained and badly managed for the time/place she is intended to represent.

Eh. You're assumption of her "9 units at Valencia Jr. College" was kind of pompous.

And no one can prove to me that a dance instructor in the Star Wars universe WOULN'T say "Amaaaazing!!!" How many dance lessons have you taken there?

Going back to original post. This is a high-end Vegas style Chuck E. Cheese Show/Dinner/hotel offering for wealthy families with children between the ages of 5-10.
Not saying that is a bad thing but this is not an experience designed for singles ages 21-35.
This is for the families with little ones.

If $6000.00 is a drop in the bucket for you after a 5 day stay at Disney with the little Star Wars fans then go for it.
Go into it with those expectations and you will be fine.

I know this was the couple everyone was having thoughts on.

Absolutely zero objectivity in that video but to be fair, there is nothing they do to suggest they were ever pretending to be a critic or "reviewer" as going into the place they were already practically wetting themselves.

It was a Good Morning America type of experience which was fine.

They also are clear right off the bat that this was comped* so to me, this is more like an unofficial preview than anything even intended to be objective.

I can respect that.

*They mention paying for a trip on the maiden voyage. Do I expect an objective review after their second paid for trip? No. They've already gotten one for free which means to me, that's like them getting the next one at half price so I don't think there is any way for people in this situation to be objective but again, that's perfectly fine as long as they don't at any point, try to pretend to be.

Well stated. Not on the person itself for me so much as the activity on this does not match.

It is the lack of care in training. This is like what Pop Century or All Stars could have in the lobby area if there are lightning storms outside.

She does not even get a headset it seems. So odd. It honestly looks like less than an activity at a one of the more ecnomic resorts. I will take smores and movies projected at the lawn areas over an odd random dance lesson.

There could at least be an original song from a good sound system that sounds in universe and can only be heard at the "cruise." and later it could be paid off with the song played live or Gaya commenting on it.

Apparently there is a moment where the dance comes into play during the first night -

Oh, heck. I had just gotten through being kind of impressed with the grand finale. And then you post this. :(

Why?!? This is so off-brand and earthbound for this "immersive adventure".

With a perky CM yelling"AMAZING!!!" just to remind us all that she's really just a girl working a part-time job at WDW while taking 9 units at Valencia Junior College. Someone didn't train the CM's well on who they are actually supposed to be, or how they're supposed to act, or where this actually was taking place.
…just a tad harsh

You think? Why? There's absolutely nothing wrong with that, and quite frankly from what I've seen in the media these days I am far more impressed with a young person at Junior College or trade school or enlisted in the Armed Forces than I am with the idiot twits at "good" schools like Harvard or Yale or UC Berkeley.

And no one can prove to me that a dance instructor in the Star Wars universe WOULN'T say "Amaaaazing!!!" How many dance lessons have you taken there?

How many Star Wars films have you seen that use modern American slang? In Star Wars in 1977, Han Solo didn't tell Leia she was a "foxy lady", and Luke didn't want to leave the farm to "boogie at the disco".

The CM's need better training, and an approved vocabulary to use with $2,000 per night guests that doesn't snap them back into 2022 American youth culture.

Cast Members are the heart and soul of this, which isn't a surprise as cast members are usually what make Disney trips so memorable.
This. I could not rag on any of the cast members for anything right now. Are some more convincing than others? Sure, but this is their first time with live guests, and given the bantha poodoo they have to work with here, these guys all deserve some credit. I'm sure they will all get better with time and practice.

And so, how many of "THOSE" type of couples are out there.. and will drop 5K on this thing. No doubt, 10, 20 maybe 50.. maybe 200 couples.. and then after that?... The pool of candidates runs quickly out for this thing.

…or like DVC pool games?

I just haven’t been able to shake that feel with any thing said/shown about this yet. Looks kinda like hoop de doo on steroids

So when did Yoda mention he can only be seen or heard by those who knew him then? Sounds like you made that bit up Lol.
Because it's stupid. Why would Ray or Kylo gice a rat's behind who Yoda is? Again that would be like Luke seeing Ghost Gui-Gonn or Mace Windu in Empire Strikes Back. It is show hornimg a classic deceased character in a story where they don't belong. You can't defend the hotel anymore now that people have seen it so now you want to argue things like this lol. That is very funny that your arguments are getting smaller and smaller.

Perhaps by only mentioning it once in my post I did not make it clear that the CM here is not to blame. Unless they are engaged in egregious behavior, the CM's are usually not to blame.

The blame here for this tacky off-brand dance lesson is placed solely at the feet of the Galactic Starcruiser training team and this CM's on-site management who should ensure high standards are being met. Assuming the training team set high standards and provided comprehensive training in the first place, which apparently they did not.

In short, this Carnival Cruise dance lesson is not AMAAAZING!.

It's unacceptable for two grand per night a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.

I just finished a very long Starcruiser video and have some thoughts. While the video is pretty comprehensive it clearly doesn’t have everything. I can only speak to what I saw, I may have to watch more to see how the experience differs.

Overall, this is far from the disaster then others suggested. Is it perfect? No. Does it have problems? Definitely. Is it a fun experience that largely delivers on the “live your Star Wars adventure”? Yes.

My pros and cons kinda tie together so I’ll be addressing both of them at the same time. First off, I enjoyed the character interactions a great deal. Was engaged in the story (more or less). The issue is that some of the activities around the character interactions is where some of my negatives come into play. Bridge training is cool but not because of the actual game being played but because of the characters interacting with you inside the bridge. The game is fine, but nothing incredible.

The lightsaber training actually annoys me because I think they could of done way better then point a lightsaber toward a light. The Yoda Force Ghost effect from Savi’s is a cool addition though. Disappointed in this activity. It also isn’t saved by character interaction like Bridge Training.

The Gaia plot while not bad, didn’t grip me like the main plot of resistance and first order.

The Batuu connection and shuttle was cool I enjoyed seeing how experiences were linked and integrated into one another.

Some of the characters I found myself more invested in then I thought I’d be like Sam, the ship’s mechanic.

The lightsaber duel and finale was cool I was entertained by that. I didn’t really like the fireworks it was fine but maybe it didn’t capture well on video. The Yoda hologram was also a nice addition. I didn’t have a problem with Rey (other then that ridiculous lightsaber swap she does). Kylo’s voice is very strange you can hear modulation (not even sure if it’s being modulated) it just has that quality to it making him sound off.

I also really enjoyed the droid link in the rooms. I realize that may creep some guests out but I thought it was a well done display of tech.

The mini missions and character interactions are really the selling point here. Obviously, I can’t judge the food.

Wasn’t the biggest fan of the dining room. Seemed kinda generic, not awful just generic expected more. I did really like the sublight lounge. It “felt” more like Star Wars then the dining room to me.

Didn’t mind the integration of the Play Disney app seemed to work well and complimented the experience well.

Overall, I enjoyed watching the experience. I think it’s one of those experiences that doesn’t really capture well on video given all the interactions. I however, don’t think it’s worth that absorbent price they are charging. I would really like to see some of these ideas integrated into Galaxy’s Edge. I believe that could really help the land.

Anyways, those are my thoughts (so far).

EDIT: The hologram projector inside the Atrium was also cool. The ship itself felt small though, which I guess is to be expected.

EDIT #2: Though this didn’t appear in my video was not a fan of the dance lesson thing. It just doesn’t fit.

Oh I get it:

And also the cm dig…a lot of fans *cough* want their slaves when they shuttle in from MCO but have no desire to be associated with the fact they want them…

The list is long and distinguished. It’s “stamps 101”
