I only skimmed it, but the fire/rehire language was confusing. ”Rehire” made it sound more like legal red tape than a serious staffing setback. More to the point, it sounded like disgruntled CM gossip, so that probably is a sign things are going well.
Almost sounds like a seniority or staff callback priority issue. If they screwed that up, it would explain the rehires after straightening out that.

Very Starwarsy! It's almost as if the people who worked on this project had someone describe Star Wars to them rather than actually watching the 100s of hours of film/shows and other media available. As Bobby I would say, "Authentically Star Wars, distinctively Disney". BTW, I hate that this project makes me feel so negative, but it's like a train wreck I just can't look away from. Ugh.

But it’s not an operational cash cow…that’s a myth like they take away huge money from construction.

it’s Disney…they overspend on every finger they lift…including hotel constriction and operation.
No, definitely not a significant money maker. But you were asking if them allowing DVC members to rip themselves off meant something negative about star cruiser bookings.

I believe they have to keep up the ruse that trading in DVC points for other options is a benefit to direct purchasers, and since they make money on each one of these dumb transactions there isn't really a reason not to take the points in trade.

No I hear you and agree that allowing DVC bookings is advantageous for Disney as well…

I think in an ideal world there would be a line of people with cash waiting to get into this…and the DVC people could line up with their cash behind them…

but that’s never going to be the case. DVC is always a little damage control…because they’ve driven it there. It used to be happy people drinking and getting their neighbors to buy.

Jesus…looks like custodial in world showcase plaza

they have no idea what they’re doing here…so out of character with Disney and Star Wars 🙄
How do these compare to the cast member uniforms on actual Disney cruises?

You'd think actual laziness would have them just use something along those lines but this looks like somebody thought this was what a uniform on a spaceship would look like.

And I'll chime in again with the others - This looks more like Fifth Element costuming then anything Star Wars.

Custodial wears plain white shirts and shorts, this doesn’t look like custodial at all. I know everyone wants this to fail but the costumes look fine to me, like a classier version of star tours. Not sure what people want them to wear? The story is they work on a cruise line in the Star Wars universe, when I worked on DCL in the real universe we wore all sorts of crazy things.

The whole point of this was to sell the thing 100% in character…the only times where you decompress from it should be in the room at lights out…

it just seems so half-*****…

standard issue Disney employees off the rack (not performers or carefully selected to look and fit the part) and what I can’t shake seems like DVC pool games…and a truck to a bad land you don’t have free run of/special events in…

it should be 8 hours a day of working a Halloween party for the employees. Sound ridiculous? Well that’s what it should be. Everyday.

i really hope I’m missing something?

…nobody cares what custodial actually wears…take the nametag off for a second

Star tours looked like an 80’s themed utility costume for an amusement park ride and a gift shop. Which is fine because it was an 80’s amusement park ride with a gift shop (RIP Endor vendor)

is that what’s being sold here?

would you feel better if I said it reminds me of what they wore at “starbase” behind all stars?

looks like a futuristic/spaced up cruise line uniform to me.

I agree this whole experiment has been messy, I just don’t think the cast costume is that terrible.

You’re supposed to be in a movie…if they lost understanding that along the way…cause of “logistics”…then they should have never lifted a shovel here.

build the two more rides that were needed and last instead…and then sell after hour tickets to your heart’s contentment
