You admit your confused about it, but, at the same time, you're sure it will be awful.

I don't believe I ever said the LARP angle of Galactic Starcruiser will be "awful". Now that I can use the acronym LARP in a sentence, something I couldn't do just a month or two ago, I actually think the LARP angle for the Starcruiser could be fun for some folks, especially families.

What I am concerned about regarding the Starcruiser has nothing to do with guest attire. It has to do with the cheap looking off-brand interior design, the bizarre push to add no-name talent with cringey fake personalities like Gaya and Captain Kennedy prominently into the product, the small and underwhelming cabins, the hokey looking and 1990's Tech light saber experience, the near-desperate reliance on lesser activities like Sabacc Lessons!, and of course the horrendously bad decision to rely on perky Imagineers and C List sitcom stars to publicly admit it's just a pretend hotel out back behind a theme park and produce some of the cringiest marketing media in recent memory.

But, at least the food looks fun and exotic. They did that well, from this current pre-opening perspective.

Excuse me if I don't think your follow-up questions are sincere.

My follow-up questions on LARP concerned the opinion voiced by a few here that Character interactions in the parks were also LARP. That baffled me to no end, until a few others chimed in.

When Cruella De Vil walks by and tells you she likes your outfit, when Stormtroopers hassle dad in front of the kids, when you wait in line to get your picture taken with Mickey Mouse and he gives you that big hug, etc. When that stuff happens, I still don't classify that as LARP'ing. It's just called being at a big theme park.

I just wrote that post above about paying customers dressed up for LARP, and then I got to the post about the CM uniforms they'll be wearing, ostensibly to LARP with the customers.

Yikes! They want paying guests to dress up and play the part, but they put the CM's in uninspired dental hygienist uniforms? This looks nothing like Star Wars ever. It looks like a cheap and downgraded version of whatever WDI originally proposed for Starcruiser CM uniforms 4 years ago, even though the WDI uniform designers involved had never actually seen a Star War.

This project keeps getting more and more warning flags waving faster and faster.

In happier news, looking at these CM's reminds me that I have an appointment to get the new crown on my back molar checked up on the first week of March.

Ummm....

All of those activities on the itinerary are now gone. This is what mine is showing now. ***?

It's probably just an glitch with the App. Disney's Apps and IT experience overall are often lacking, especially prior to opening or during the first few weeks. It could just be a pre-opening refresh of the systems that's caused things to go missing temporarily.

But on the bright side, you still can look forward to "A Moment With Gaya 4:15 to 4:30" 😐

I’m beginning to believe that no one outside of the LFL archives has ever actually seen any Star Wars material prior to 2013…

each step they make seems to be by novice/low pay technicians written/concept drawn by recent Stanford grads in Russian literature.

This is just so weird to watch play out like this, isn't it? I can't remember anything quite like it.

There's an obvious disconnect between the Starcruiser and its alleged source material.

There's gotta be a story behind all this!

Theres a certain segment of fandom that believes many within Lucasfilm hate what Star Wars is, and wants to change that aggressively from within. That is one possible explanation. Not saying I believe it, but that explains the relatively non-SW nature of this experience (From what we can piece together so far).

Those outfits are so bad. Looking at them without reference, there would be absolutely no way for me to know it had anything to do with Star Wars.

Star Wars does luxury, and it does luxury well. I enjoyed the casino in The Last Jedi, and I loved Dryden Vos yacht in Solo. They were beautiful. They were art nouveau. This is nothing like either of those.

This is a spaceship. That's cool. I love space. Make this a space themed hotel and I'd be much more inclined to spend the money. Marketing it as Star Wars and not making it Star Wars is a failure.

No kidding. :(

These uniforms are just baggy and shapeless polyester pants with an untailored polyester tunic.

The only little element of any real theme appears on the upper left hand side of the bland tunic; a slight shirring of the fabric on the shoulders, the unique nametag, and (Go Big, Chapek!) a single, small 1 inch oval button with the Chandrila Star Lines logo on it.

This is the only part of the uniform that has any defining style or meaning. And you have to look hard to find it.

The rest of these uniforms are just a few yards of blue polyester that is ill-fitting and rather shapeless, with no hat, no embellishments, no accesories, no plackets or contrasting textures. Paired with ballet flats the young lady bought at Macy's.

They fired Kiri Hart at least…who was “changing the world”…one stupid story at a time
I don’t hate them but how hard would this style have been to replicate? They’ve got dozens of films and cartoons with pilots, staff, and crew to base this stuff on, to me this screams Star Wars crew.
Or this…if they hadn’t stupidly relabeled things for no reason…

Will the annoying bartender from the video come out and shush you during your moment with Gaya?
