I always imagined selling the points when you are unable to go and your points are about to expire. Better get some cashback than to lose everything.Ripping off the points is one thing…but selling DVC rooms at cash is very much overestimated. They don’t pimp very many of those rooms for cash…because the whole point of the DVC conversions in the first place is that they couldn’t sell the rooms at cash.
in the last 10 years…DVC is given a lot “credit” for things it does not do…like giving Disney this big war chest of cash…which it never did. It’s to get people there to spend more money…it always was and will be…no matter what their policies are to the members. Which are quite bad as it stands.
That’s the rental market and it’s robust…I always imagined selling the points when you are unable to go and your points are about to expire. Better get some cashback than to lose everything.

Way more than 10x. A room including water park admission is about $100 for a family of 4 if you time it right.Great Wolf Lodge level entertainment at only 10 times the price.
I was gonna say, lol.Maybe 100x even
Which one has all that? The closest one to us has an arcade and a run down 9 hole mini golf course.GWL has a few games, besides Magic Quest, one where you avoid lasers, one where you push lit buttons. This would fit right in. They could probably charge 10 bucks a play.View attachment 619469
The one in MA has an arcade, the wand game, and a "recreation room" with small obstacle courses and stuff. It looks way more fun than it actually is. Even the waterslides are old to my boys at this point.Which one has all that? The closest one to us has an arcade and a run down 9 hole mini golf course.
In other words. you have no idea?My friend saw the ***** article earlier today, I notice now that it has been taken down... I assume either it is completely true and it was demanded to be removed, or that it is completely false and they pulled it so as to not look dumb.
I've said if this is going to be a disaster, I want it to be a spectacular one. We seem to be well on our way. Excited to see low-rent Kylo Ren fumble the lines he's only had 3 weeks to practice.
Well you have to pay your 8ish dollars a year for maintenance fees, which is actually the cost to run the operation. When you go to trade them for a different room, cruise, or whatever, they basically give you about $8 worth of cash for those points rather than the buying power they'd actually have in DVC rooms. So at that point they could sell the rooms at half cost and it's all profit. That’s the rental market and it’s robust…
I may have been wrong…but the inference I got was “Disney takes points for the slow boat to Fatuu…then disney sells the room that those points would have gone to for cash”?
problem there is the reason there’s so much DVC is they couldn’t sell the rooms and had to convert them. They are already on Plan B
again…I could have been misinterpreting?
Chump change…in the grand scheme of things…the profits aren’t made off rooms.Well you have to pay your 8ish dollars a year for maintenance fees, which is actually the cost to run the operation. I only skimmed it, but the fire/rehire language was confusing. ”Rehire” made it sound more like legal red tape than a serious staffing setback. More to the point, it sounded like disgruntled CM gossip, so that probably is a sign things are going well.My friend saw the ***** article earlier today, I notice now that it has been taken down...
