Ok fair enough. Would you be able to articulate why you think she looks lame? I’m just trying to understand the critique
Sorry. I don't mean to speak for the person you were addressing. But, IMO, the problem has been articulated in this thread already... She looks like Veronica Salt as a blueberry; a much slimmer, trimmer blueberry though. I'm not questioning anything else with her. I'm sure she has the demeanor to pull off the role she was cast in. But, the makeup looks like something for a made-for-tv special...

I think the issue is lighting. I think that goes for the "bridge" too. It is possible for these filmings/photoshoots, the lighting used is causing things to look the way they are. When watching Star Wars either on film or TV show, we are used to a dark/cinematic look.

Do I think lighting alone is the issue, no. And it won't magically make things look better. But bad lighting can absolutely make things look worst than they really are.

I wonder how they will queue the limited interactive experiences? For example, hyperspace and the shooting game on the bridge.
I presume there will not be a queue line, maybe a scheduled return times (Disney loves return times).

After it fails as the Starcruiser, how hard would it be to close for a year and add a pool area and reopen as a DVC and a desirable point price. At that point there is nothing to lose.
they would also have to add parking, unless it is a valet-only resort. And bus routes...

The outside and grounds screams contemporary prison. The cost would be prohibitive to turn this into a DVC property, better to tear it down and build a tower if that was the goal

This is probably the closest thing we’ve had to an Eisner era risk in a long time and it seems like everyone is hoping for it to fail.

While I'm sure a few people are hoping it fails, I don't think that's what's driving most of these reactions. Although I lost most of my interest in Star Wars after the sequel trilogy (it was waning well before then, not saying it's the fault of the sequel trilogy -- just that the sequel trilogy didn't rekindle it), I used to be a hardcore fan, and I was hoping this would be amazing.

I'm just shocked at how cheap and lackluster everything they've shown looks. I was expecting something significantly better -- as I said above, the theming actually looks much worse than what they've done at a place like the Animal Kingdom Lodge.

True, after all it does not look like it was a huge investment to begin with.
After it fails, just make it a break room for the cast members..

I'd imagine sit-down reservation-only dining for GE (with bar area and live entertainment) and the rooms would be turned into offices or something.
They could use the building as a location for several new "experiences" with transportation that departs from SWGE, using the same shuttles. There could be dining experiences, escape rooms, etc.

But, alas, this thread drift is way premature. I think the starcruiser will be around for quite some time.

I admit I missed the iphone until later. But I’d still go with “not terrible” as compared to the previous video. Either way, it’s a far cry from “good enough for the price they’re charging and the experiences they’re promising.”
Agree, it was less cringy.

The concept art shows families in lobbies and rooms filled with a ton of characters. Aliens, droids, stormtroopers (not sure how there would be stormtroopers on this voyage unless the story every stay consists of being boarded by antagonists)

I mean honestly I can see the story elements being dropped and them just using the absurd cost to pay for entertainment. I'd imagine kids would rather trade with Jawas in the lobby than have some weird alien with an ambiguous fake British accent telling them to use a tablet to complete a mission.

I'm not even sure how they're doing this considering the job market in Orlando. I can see CA having a lot of talented people doing this at a high production value but eventually I can see Jose from Poinciana just being like "yeah ok kid may the Schwartz be with you too. The total for your hot dog, I mean, lunar sausage comes out to $39.99"
an absurd cost to pay for entertainment when the asking price is also absurd?
Take the balance and calculate :)

Now that you mention Ithorians can I ask if anyone knows why Disney has not bought the rights to KOTOR. What other Star Wars story comes closer to Episode V? What other SW story has the epic twist. But I digress. Your point is well taken. I think the problem with SW is there are movies, tv shows, videogames, books, and comics. I have seen all the movies/tv shows/played most videogames/some books that are no longer canon and zero comics. Do I understand more than most? Yes. Do I know all, not even close. But those who only have seen the movies are missing a significant amount of SW lore.
LOL. I'm a OT guy. I'm only tangentially familiar with the rest of the movies. When all these names pop up, my eyes glaze over. But, OK, whatever.

Reminds of the time I took my, then 5 year old to see episode I and he asked about a character on screen (not JarJar!). I told him I didn't know. But, he kept pestering me. So, I told him, it was MooGoo GuyPan (from Bob Newhart). So, with authority, that's what he told all his friends. Let's just say he has trust issues now! 🤣
