We are talking about a company that created a billion dollar Star Wars world at their theme park and won’t allow Darth Vader in the front door. What’s crazy is Disney purposely designed it that way.
Darth Vader…. One of the greatest villains of all time.

Vader should be the one receiving the credit card of the clients when they arrive to check in.
And saying in his voice "The prices have changed.. pray the prices do not increase further"

Or they can do a mirialan and someone can accuse them of not being a Star Wars character.

I'm not certain how anyone can think this.

GE has Chewie, Kylo Ren, and Rey as walk-around characters. Finn, Poe, Rey, BB-8, and Nien Nunb are in RotR. Hondo Ohnaka (CW and Rebels character) and Chewbacca are in MFSR.

We know of what? 2 character in GS? The twi'lek singer (a species from the films) and a Pantoran captain (George Lucas actually played one in RotS) and Chewbacca was mentioned as being onboard too.

Unreal.
I'm surprised they didnt had a droid to showcase the hologram of the halcyon and the captain. Instead they went with a star wars style tablet.

Ok - so I'm reading elsewhere that this video is being emailed (sent) to people who booked stays (cruises? :p )
That makes even less sense as to why there's so much static in the video.
and now I'm getting Total Recall vibes...
“- Bob McClane: What is it that is exactly the same about every single vacation you have ever taken?
- Douglas Quaid: I give up.
- Bob McClane: You! You're the same. No matter where you go, there you are. It's always the same old you. Let me suggest that you take a vacation from yourself. I know it sounds wild. It is the latest thing in travel....”
They don't even have the audio synced. As someone that lip reads to help, it's annoying as heck, cheap, and like a foreign film with dubbed English audio.

Not terrible? Look at the background! Look at her face? What species is that?! She is holding a iphone...in STAR WARS!!. Not terrible my butt!
I admit I missed the iphone until later. But I’d still go with “not terrible” as compared to the previous video. Either way, it’s a far cry from “good enough for the price they’re charging and the experiences they’re promising.”

Everyone: Disney doesn’t know how to make highly themed hotels anymore

Disney: makes the world’s most themed hotel

Everyone: Disney shouldn’t have made this hotel

Its not a hotel remember? Look they should have done a more normal size hotel could still be small by disney standards but not micro. Than theme it to Sw wiith all the decor etc. (Throw the space idea in the dumpster fire of bobbys closet) you have a normal resort that is Highly themed to SW. not some larping 6,000 dollar nerd beacon.

More like:

Everyone: Disney's been making poorly themed hotels in recent years

Disney: Misses the mark on its record-breakingly expensive themed hotel-type "experience"

Everyone: At this price point there's no excuse for this trend to continue

I have little good or bad to say about this experience as it's really not for me. They could offer me a "cruise" for free and I don't think I'd take it as I'd prefer to spend my time in a normal resort and visiting the parks.

However, things like the static on the video just look a bit off to me, as in it looks like an obvious effect added to the video which doesn't even make that much logical sense. The background also looks like a graphic. Maybe I'm just not versed enough in Star Wars lore and aesthetics, but looking at what we've seen as a work of Imagineering I'm surprised it all doesn't look more "real".

The Marvel rights only have to do with the parks. They could build a full blown marvel hotel on property with all characters right now.
There's also a retail/entertainment concept mentioned in the contract that can't be built within 60 miles of Universal. So, they could probably build a hotel, as long as they don't try to entertain you in any way (Chapek's ears just perked up), or sell you anything (Chapek sad). And even if they did build a real Marvel hotel in Tampa or something to get around the 60 mile rule, they wouldn't be able to market it as being part of WDW. You can read the contract right from the official SEC website.

I’m still on the wait and see train. Disney already has close to 30 hotels at WDW. If they had just built another “regular” hotel themed to Star Wars people would have been just as upset. This is probably the closest thing we’ve had to an Eisner era risk in a long time and it seems like everyone is hoping for it to fail. I hope their gamble pays off, even though I personally have no interest in staying there, just for the sake of it encouraging Bobby to take more creative risks with the theme parks.

When does Star Wars ever do clean, clear, in focus transmission of video? I'm sure there's an example or two somewhere, but it's usually holograms that are very soft focus, or crackly screens.
They also don't project them over iPhones. Nearly every holoprojector in Star Wars is some variation of a disk. They didn't even use purple makeup - they just desaturated the actress and added a purple tint. And that background is worse than a free zoom background. I didn't expect the video quality to get even worse...

People are reacting this way because they are expecting to see the characters they see on screen appear to them in real life. Every alien and fantastical creatures in Star Wars now is totally CGI or augmented by CGI, they are also heavily refined detailed for filming. This is simply not going to happen with this LARPing adventure. Alien characters appearing at the star cruiser will be on par with the best of what you saw in the original trilogy before the special edition, hence the negative reaction. I mean honestly you would probably see better costuming and makeup from fans at a convention than at the star cruiser.
Disney should have hired some of the best SW cosplayers to help them on this. Same with the droid bulders for some actual life for GE.

The concept art shows families in lobbies and rooms filled with a ton of characters. Aliens, droids, stormtroopers (not sure how there would be stormtroopers on this voyage unless the story every stay consists of being boarded by antagonists)

I mean honestly I can see the story elements being dropped and them just using the absurd cost to pay for entertainment. I'd imagine kids would rather trade with Jawas in the lobby than have some weird alien with an ambiguous fake British accent telling them to use a tablet to complete a mission.

I'm not even sure how they're doing this considering the job market in Orlando. I can see CA having a lot of talented people doing this at a high production value but eventually I can see Jose from Poinciana just being like "yeah ok kid may the Schwartz be with you too. The total for your hot dog, I mean, lunar sausage comes out to $39.99"

The problem: You cast a character to look believable in the role.
She doesn't look believable as the captain of a starship.
She looks like a diversity hire, chosen to meet a quota of blue females.
As for suggestions, someone or something that looked cool and capable.
I'd have to hear her speak. I've has some female bosses that I wouldn't want to be on the bad side of!

I'll agree that it's quite possible she's an excellent actress and will be very good in the role.
If that's so, and it probably is. It's even more of a shame about the way the character looks.
I'd prefer her human instead of blueman.
