Very interesting stuff. Some of the character photos within leave no doubt remaining that the debated concept poster from earlier is the real deal. The full video, story and photo gallery is available at Vanity Fair. Some great photos and good little nuggets of info.

Being a fan of a good 'ol epic lightsaber duel... I'll take it.They’re going to fight again?
An emotional track works best when you’re emotionally invested in the characters as well.Being a fan of a good 'ol epic lightsaber duel... I'll take it.
(And having a goosebump-inducing, emotional backing track from John Williams is always a plus.)
Well that's good news for me then.An emotional track works best when you’re emotionally invested in the characters as well.

I think that Disney is very respectful of what this is, and right from the beginning we talked about the fragility of this form of storytelling. Because it’s something that means so much to fans that you can’t turn this into some kind of factory approach. You can’t even do what Marvel does, necessarily, where you pick characters and build new franchises around those characters. This needs to evolve differently.
Apparently we haven't run off all the Defenders yet who will blindly love anything with the Star Wars logo slapped onto it. A few roaches scattered among us. Where is @Sirwalterraleigh and @Anders Limpar ? Mike and I need your help.

Because it ruined characters I was invested in. I’m still going to see this movie out of sheer curiosity. Likely opening weekend in IMAX like the others because after all, I’m still a Star Wars fan. Also they haven’t ruined Chewbacca (yet). Why are you so active in the Episode IX thread if you’re not emotionally invested in its main characters?
Like, we get it. You don’t like the sequels. But what do you gain by seeking out opportunity to just be negative?
We all knew it was coming. It’s very predictable. Only surprise they can do is if Rey and Kylo switch sides. Is this from IX? I hope they didn't spoil the final battle.
THANK YOU!Because it ruined characters I was invested in. I’m still going to see this movie out of sheer curiosity. Likely opening weekend in IMAX like the others because after all, I’m still a Star Wars fan. Also they haven’t ruined Chewbacca (yet).

Give it a rest. Your type is greatly outnumbered here.LOL. Listen Captain Obvious, I know this is a the internet so it may be hard to believe, but not everybody is an extremist. I'm pretty lukewarm on TLJ and think there were a lot of missed opportunities in that film. I just didn't make a choice to write off one of my favorite franchises due to a few missteps, especially when the franchise has survived plenty of missteps before. And on top of that, I don't make an effort to belittle or diminish others' enjoyment of the films - because that accomplishes absolutely nothing and it's just plain not nice.
So no need to call up your big bad boys to exterminate the "roaches" who happened to like a movie that you didn't. You're not going to change those people's minds. So you can waste your keystrokes here or you can go do something more productive with your time on the world wide web.
Sure, TLJ may have missed the mark. But the films aren't what's wrong with Star Wars today. It's the "fans" with sentiments and posts like yours.
It's worth something. The commercials might be good.- for what it’s worth

Because he loves Star Wars but these movies are boring or outright blow...
And maybe - just maybe - rejection of inferior product my force action by the makers. That has been the goal since 1999...it’s out of love, not hate.
But emotions are powerful and sometimes you cross the streams.
This and all things. A consumer/fan needs to be their own advocates. What I call “responsible consumerism”
I’ll give an illustration.
We are Disney fans...so if the one day price went from $125 a day to $175 tomorrow...what do you do?
...you don’t buy and question why? Hold out for (ghast) a couple of months. Go to New York or Chicago or something...
You DONT say “yay! More magic for me! It’s totally worth it!!!”
NOOOOOOO.
It’s really a cocktail of common sense and maturity. Defend what you should defend. Including Star Wars
I get your gist...I can’t say that I disagree with much of it.
It’s the bad management that is apparent how. And Iger is punting on it. He is playing out his string.
But Star Wars is very much a diminished franchise...and that is something to be corrected with good management and creative talent. Lucasfilm doesn’t have it. Time to sweep the decks.
Watch abrams try to sell this nonsense on GMA this morning. He couldn’t sell it...the abc anchors couldn’t even feign excitement. The truth is out there and we don’t need muller.
This isn’t 1% of angry fans. Open your eyes.
But I get your stance and respect it. Totally. No extermination needed. Except that last paragraph is crap...and the defense of those that were in a comma for a minimum December 2017-present. The bar needs to be higher.
All fair.I dig these posts for being level headed discussion that doesn't resort to name calling or schoolyard insults. You make some great points, and I pretty much agree with you on everything too.
I totally get behind the idea of putting your money where your mouth is when it comes to products like this. But complaining on a message board is not going to get the message across to Disney/Lucasfilm. Not buying a ticket to see TROS is putting your money where your mouth is.
I also support the idea of a creative and management shakeup at Lucasfilm. There's definitely a lack of overall creative vision and attunement to the audience that studios like Marvel and Pixar have. It's abundantly clear in the comparison to Marvel.
Once again, I'm not against those who didn't like TLJ - I've got plenty about TLJ that I dislike. I'm against a witch hunt aimed at people with a different opinion. It's just a waste of time.
