Star Tours II - Soft opening watch

In his haste to be the "first" to give out info he's been wrong, several times. It's like, what's the point if you have to question his info or wait for a retraction?

Also the whole camping out in front of a closed attraction is a bit...creepy.

I haven't seen hardly anything he had to retract. And if it wasn't for his ACCURATE information I wouldn't have gotten in to the after hours preview. Also, you won't complain about camping out if he alerts to a soft opening you get to go to.

Plus he's affiliated with The Unofficial Guide's Touring Plans website. So I am pretty sure he's been asked to camp out there.

Still don't get the negativity. He's been nothing but informative in my eyes.

His "accurate info" about the after hours event was just RTing the official Disney World/Disney Parks twitter. If you were following that account you would've had the info even sooner.

He posted "info" about CM previews that ended up being dubious just hours ago. According to CMs I know there is no info on the Hub regarding previews like he claimed.

Suit yourself. But he also posted pictures of the walls being down a dull day before this site noticed. And any CM getting their info from him instead of the Hub is weirs.

I plan on shaking his hand and thanking him when I see him.

Well, I've got to say I love the guy. He's just a kid, I think. I would have had no idea about the meet up had I not subbed to his twitter and gotten it right when I did. Thanks to him I'm going. :D

So he's AOK by me. :sohappy:

He's putting out rumors as he gets them, it's not like he's writing some planned stories and pushing an agenda or something. As to the creepy - I think it's perfect, people have always waited out by attractions waiting for soft opens, I think this one is great and most of the Disney people are looking at it with great humor - and it's even more publicity for them.

I bet they end up bringing the kid food and snacks by the end of the week. ;)

What? No CMs are getting info from him, they're the ones proving him wrong.

My point was a CM would find out about their preview through the Hub.

You know the negativity on this board sometimes makes it a not so fun place to try to communicate. Jeez.

Edit to add: his info about the CM preview has been confirmed. It's in a vidcast on the Hub. An employee had claimed it was going to be deleted due to high demand for the ride. But its still up in the vidcast.

We got in too!! Although I have to thank WDWMAGIC via Facebook for the info as I happened to be checking the news feed as it popped up. I immediately called my husband and now myself, my husband and our daughter get to go to the preview! However I do have to say that I too like the Star Tour 2 Live site. They have a girl, Scarlet, camped out in front of the ride posting pictures all day. If there are soft openings, that site will be the first to let everyone know :). Oh and did I mention my birthday is the 19th?! What a fantastic present Disney has given me :)

If the CM's aren't getting their info from him, then why does it matter if he was wrong about something that only had to do with employees? ;)

And as posted above, it indeed seems to be turning out that he was right.

Don't get the criticism, but hey - the kid got me tickets to this, like I said, I owe him a nice drink. If he's old enough to drink haha.

I should bring him a gift! LOL. I'm so excited about the After Hours Meetup. I don't even know what to do with myself. How can I wait two weeks???

Because he's telling park guests that public soft openings will likely occur on CM preview days when the info wasn't even confirmed when he posted it.*wink face*

Actually, he made a vague statement about how IN THE PAST soft openings coincide with CM previews. He was very clear about it not being fact that a soft opening was happening on that day. But as I said, stay negative it it makes you feel better.

Al Lutz has info up tonight on Miceage about "hundreds" of Disneylanders riding Star Tours for testing on Thursday. Al Lutz's details and tone are positive, and he says it is a "hit". That's pretty strong praise from Disneyland's most famous critic.

I was going to comment, but decided not to.

But...you just did. LOL.

He's a kid sitting in front of an attraction and letting us vicariously follow along. It's all in fun. If people take anything he says or does seriously, they are missing the whole point. :)
