Star Tours 2: Official confirmation - kinda

Holy cow! Okay, I've got a semi-serious question for you. If Phantom Menace was your first Star Wars film, what made you want to watch the second one? Also, what did it feel like when you got to New Hope, and the dialogue got a lot better but the budget got a lot smaller?

Didn't Harrison Ford say something to George Lucas when they were filming New Hope to the effect of: "George, how can you expect us to actually speak this s___t?"

 I hadn't heard that, but yes, ALL the SW movies have their share of corny lines.

Wouldn't be SW without it, kinda.

Any Star Wars fans out there may want to go over to PendantAudio.com and listen to thier audio production of "Star Wars: Blue Harvest". I direct the show and act in it as well. There are 21 episodes up right now (over 7 hours!), with another 15 episodes coming next year. It starts off a bit slow, but really picks up speed. It spans three generation of the Star Wars timeline. Go check it out! :)

For those wondering, I think Phantom Menace is a B+ movie. Certainly the worst of the 6, but I enjoyed it, especially considering it was the first one I had seen. I also think that watching the films in chronological order first makes Return of the Jedi step up. Actually it is my favorite of the SW films. After 5 movies, you have a lot more invested in the characters and the story. Also I feel that Empire Strikes back loses a bit of luster when you know the big "twist" from the get go. Darth Vader never felt like a classic villian to me as well. I knew the back story and saw what had happened to him, so I viewed him as a sympathetic character. Very different perspective from those that grew up with 4-6.

Interesting perspective!:D

Was it easier to spot the parallels in Luke/Anakin this way?

I'm sure it was. It's just impossible for me to not see Anakin as a kid when I see Darth Vader. So this whole "Best Movie Villain" stuff just doesn't click with me when it comes to Vader. I always viewed Vader as a secondary villain and a sympathetic one at that. Seeing the prequels first REALLY changes your view on Darth Vader.

I felt like Episode 3 made him a lot less sympathethic character. :)

Interesting. Were you more impressed with the original movies? Which were more "immersive" to you as cinema?

And you tell me I'm going off topic. You're the running joke of this forum.

Let's try to steer this back to topic.

I wonder if they'd keep the original film and split it in 3. That'd be pretty cool.

Supposedly it might have many different films.

You kidding me? Let him ask the question! Just becuase you don't agree or like his opinion, doesn't mean you can walk all over him.

...and you could be one to talk.

Anyway, it's rumored to be all 6.

He told me I was going off topic in another post and complaining. Don't butt in when you don't know the situation please. The guy is very, very annoying.

Don't butt in? To posts on a publicly viewable forum? That's a new one.

If you find him annoying, add him to your ignore list. If you like being annoyed and don't want anyone to "butt in" then use a private message.

Sheesh. Talk about annoying.

LOL you could easily see the other post in a VERY popular thread here. It's actually VERY public. Don't butt in if you don't know both sides. Simple, and if you can't understand that logic then I'm the last of your worries.

Anyone know about the big Hoth machine (brain fart, I totally forgot name) will be taken down? I find him quite amazing....

If you find me annoying it's by design. :drevil: :ROFLOL:

Now, back to Star Wars. I really liked episode 3. I hope it is included in ST2 when it opens in WDW's third theme park during the 40th anniversary.
