Star Tours 2.0: DL Spring 2011, DHS ???

I wouldn't say it's a terrible film, but I will say that it is my least favorite Pixar film
Mine too. So far, it's the only Pixar film I ever sat in and thought, "Gee, I wonder how much is left?" The story just didn't feel as tight as the others did to me.

"Star Tours 2.0" name =

So if one of the new AAs breaks and they fix it, will be be Star Tours 2.1? Here's hoping it has a cool new name like "Star Tours: ........." with a subtitle or just Star Tours: Mission 2.

I'll agree that, off hand, Incredibles is a very underutilized property.

However, I don't think that any movie should have its own land (not even Star Wars...that other big Lucas Property should be present in that land, if it ever happens). Especially at DHS, where it would be sort of a contradiction. You have Pixar Place (the Pixar Land), but for some reason you also have a Cars Land? Why wouldn't a Cars attraction just fit into the original Pixar land? I don't mean in the regards of physically fitting the attraction there, I mean fitting from the perspective of having cohesive lands within the park. I don't think it makes sense to have a "land" that is actually a subset of another "land" within the park, as its own independent land. I still really like the idea of there being several "lands" at DHS that fit the different properties (Muppets Land, Lucas Land, etc.), although we haven't heard about that for a while, so who knows if that's still the longterm plan for DHS.

True, but if there HAS to be a miniland inside Pixar Place, I'd prefer it not be Cars themed.

Agreed completely. Star Tours 2.0 is such a generic, uncreative, boring name.

I respectfully disagree with your disagreement....
I think cars is the weakest Pixar film. The plot of that film has been used and done many times before, Doc Hollywood with Michael J.Fox for example is the exact same movie. But you can't count out the love that America has for NASCAR, which is another thread all together.

Highly regarded movie critics and box office receipts agree with you.

It's really time for Nightmare Before Christmas and James and the Giant Peach to get some attractions.

Fanboy.

FWIW, Star Tours is indeed scheduled to blast into Florida within two years...for now...we'll see what ends up happening.

You may be right. Or wrong. But according to Al, TDO's balking is what pushed it from a 2010 to a 2011 opening. If that's true, we're getting 2.0 a year later than we could have.

WDW being cheap and wanting to wait a year is much more believeable.

Heading for the great escape.
Hooorahhh for Star Tours update, pity about the timescale.

Yaa Boo sucks to those knocking Cars, a well loved film in this house.

The Incrediblyborings however is for me complete and utter dross, and unworthy of a feature in even a local carnival ride.

Major thread drift here, but just to be fair, the box office receipts really don't agree. Here's how Box Office Mojo currently ranks the Pixar films:

1 Finding Nemo $339,714,978
2 Up $265,851,836
3 The Incredibles $261,441,092
4 Monsters, Inc. $255,873,250
5 Toy Story 2 $245,852,179
6 Cars $244,082,982
7 WALL-E $223,808,164
8 Ratatouille $206,445,654
9 Toy Story $191,796,233
10 A Bug's Life $162,798,565

While it might possibly be argued that, adjusted for inflation, Toy Story and A Bug's Life were bigger hits, Cars still made more than WALL-E and Ratatouille, which were both highly regarded by critics.

Cars was weak...Ratatouille BLEW AWAY Cars IMO. It's this simple, Cars just didn't have enough adult humor in it to appeal to all audiences the way Pixar's best do. The argument against Ratatouille is that it was the exact opposite.

Totally off topic here... but I actually agree with you! :lookaroun

But I'm sure the franchaise has pulled in lots since!

I kinda agree w/ the box office reciepts. I always thought Bug's Life was Pixar's weakest. I never felt pulled into the story. And anyone who lives with boys under the age of 12 will tell you that Cars is a hit, and more girls in that age range like Cars, than boys in that age range like the Princess movies.

Yes Cars had lapped the field :lookaroun of Pixar movies a couple times at least in terms of generating revenue.
