While I despise the way Al writes, he's usually pretty good with his rumors.

Glad to hear he was dead wrong on this one.

Yes, I usually like what he writes and I have even supported his web site.
But this rumor was just his blatent WDW bashing that gets tiresome when it is so transparent. I don't mind good natured joking but the ST rumor was over the line.

Here is the link that confirms Carsland and RSR are exclusive to the DLR. Although I still think it's possible DHS could get a mini land that is Carsland-esque.

I hope not. Cars is the worst Pixar film, IMO. Give me an Incredibles land/E-ticket. It would look spectacular near the streets of America, and Incredibles is the most underused film Disney has.

Isn't this franchise rumored for TL someday? Better fit IMO.

Thanks for that link. You think Incredibles fit better in TL? How so? I think they would be out of place there, like Monster's Inc. Then agian, if TL is all sci-fi, then I guess you can say both fit since monsters and super heroes are technically sci-fi.

How? How the heck is a 1950s era superhero movie a better fit in the land of tomorrow?

It fits much better in the Studios, especially since the expansion pad of the BLT is right near Streets of America, a great superhero-like setting.

I now think of TL as Sci Fi Land, so it works for me.

Resistance was futile :lookaroun

I'm even thinking that the CoP should get a "Meet the Robinsons" overlay.

I'm fine with it being "Scifi land". I'm NOT okay with it being Fantasyland East.

Agreed I'd love an Incredibles Eticket in PS!

I respectfully disagree... I love Cars - thought the movie was great! Loved the characters, the story of friendship and needing it in our lives, etc.

And it's too big of a franchaise now to ignore... Cars stuff is still all over the place in stores!

But I would love see anything new... I don't care what it is!

So did TDO fight Lucas for a scaled down version, like Al says?
Although I wasn't directly involved in the front end planning of this project, from what I've been told, TDO did put up a fight and can be partially blamed for delays so far. I can't say for sure if it was as bad as Lutz reported.

I think cars is the weakest Pixar film. The plot of that film has been used and done many times before, Doc Hollywood with Michael J.Fox for example is the exact same movie. But you can't count out the love that America has for NASCAR, which is another thread all together.

It's really time for Nightmare Before Christmas and James and the Giant Peach to get some attractions.

I'm all for new attractions...and for keeping the integrity of the parks/lands. Let me preface by saying I have not seen the film...how exactly does Cars/Carsland fit with the history/culture/glitz of California? If I'm way off base, educate me.

Route 66 for starters.

I think the argument about the quality of Cars is the scope of it's appeal. It appeals largely to young boys, but doesn't branch out as much into the parents or girls. Some of the other Pixar offerings appeal to a wider demographic.

I wouldn't say it's a terrible film, but I will say that it is my least favorite Pixar film. I agree with you that The Incredibles is the most underused IP they have and I would love to see some type of incredibles E-ticket, the theming on it could be stellar.

I'll agree that, off hand, Incredibles is a very underutilized property.

However, I don't think that any movie should have its own land (not even Star Wars...that other big Lucas Property should be present in that land, if it ever happens). Especially at DHS, where it would be sort of a contradiction. You have Pixar Place (the Pixar Land), but for some reason you also have a Cars Land? Why wouldn't a Cars attraction just fit into the original Pixar land? I don't mean in the regards of physically fitting the attraction there, I mean fitting from the perspective of having cohesive lands within the park. I don't think it makes sense to have a "land" that is actually a subset of another "land" within the park, as its own independent land. I still really like the idea of there being several "lands" at DHS that fit the different properties (Muppets Land, Lucas Land, etc.), although we haven't heard about that for a while, so who knows if that's still the longterm plan for DHS.
