Staggs says changes to Fantasyland...

I think a Neverland area has potential. Probably see the M&G areas scaled back to be a standard area to meet the character and not so much of the dance with, celebrate with, interact with the character as planned. Could move PeterPans Flight to a new neverland area and bring back Toad?

I think a new Neverland would be grand, but what to do with Peter Pan's Flight... Alice?

The "romantic subtext" is mainly there to describe that everyone can enjoy the messages of the movie, even boys and (gasp!) adults! If anyone said that the movies were not filled with universal messages, than I would point them to that list. Something about the movies seems to be being lost in translation to TDO. I'm simply glad to know that they've seen that they can get both male and female enjoyment out of these movies and that they don't need to go out and shop for more franchises.

... but Aladdin wouldn't hurt...

P.S. If they deliver with the Cinderella transformation magic, really beef up the concept of Philip's fight playing out in the woods of Aurora's house, play up Ursula, Eric, and Sebastian in the new Ariel ride, add some oomph and maybe a little walkthrough portion to Belle's storytime, and maybe enclose Goofy's Barnstormer for a Pink Elephants inspired ride... that would be plenty. These supposed changes sound like a step in the right direction... and sound like a new ride, too...

Then we should probably ignore what boys want, LMA is a waste of space. Does anyone even see that more than once?

Young boys have seemed to enjoy Fantasyland for decades now, nothing too masculine in there as it is.

I love LMA. Just for the record. Seen it actually five times. Love it.

And the issues with boys being intrested is this. It's fine now. But it may not be once tons of the M&G's open, it will be all about girls IMO.

Aladdin wouldn't hurt, but how do you fit a desert by a forest?

Last time I was in Toon Town all the M&Gs outside of Mickey in his tent were Princesses or Pixie Hallow, so what's changing exactly?

^More immersive surroundings that take up more room, so there will be more actual "space" given to the princess stories. But, if done correctly, it won't be all about the girls.

Oh, and desert by a forest? Simple, make an oasis of sorts to buffer the two areas, I.E Ariel and Eric's castle & palm trees and water (already not a forest) sitting next to The Palace. Nobody has to see The Palace from the forest, you know. I doubt anyone's going to be able to see Eric's castle brazenly sticking out in the distance. DLP does this quite well with their Adventureland.

The M&Gs won't be, or weren't planned to be just regular meet and greets.. they were going to be M&Gs on steroids... A lot of people here didn't see how and why boys would be interested in seeing Cinderella's outfit change from rags to her dress, boys wouldn't be interested in coloring birthday cards for Aurora, nor would they sit and listen to Belle read them a story...

I am one person who said boys would participate, but, truth is, when you look at everything planned, the plans revolved around a market that little girls made popular (and made Disney millions upon billions of dollars)...

My final post for tonight.. I'm on record as saying Neverland will be coming to MK and part of this expansion with a brand new Peter Pan's Flight...

Odds: 2 to 1 :)

About the desert thing. It is Fantasyland, anything is possible if you dream it.

I havent exactly seen whats been happening with Toon Town latley(as I live in Ohio and dont get to WDW much) and I havent kept track of whats happened in their on this site. But I just have the hardest time believeing that boys are waiting in line to meet Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and Tinkerbell; willing that is :ROFLOL:. I'm 20, but I remember reaching age 10 and thinking okay, time to move on from the princess thing. I would think boys would be more intrested in characters like Mickey, Aladdin, Stitch, Buzz, etc. But thats just me.

Ding! And that's what Staggs said in his mind about this FLE. I think everyone was so amazed to see that MK was getting something big that they didn't see what all was entailed. But now everyone is seeing that original plans were targeted primarily at girls.

Lines for the Princesses and PH were 45 min or more, there were plenty of boys on line and none of them were throwing fits or looked unhappy.

Boys will be FLOORED by the Cindy thing, especially if they add the additional pumpkin transformation to the mix (and it's like a real walkthrough), and if Belle's library happens to be filled with special effects just like in Art of Animation in Cali, boys WILL pay attention to the story if a)they can participate in it like they currently can, and b)the story wraps around them with special effects.

But boys may not sit and make birthday cards... that's why they're drawing them in with the dragon fight forest and keeping them seated with the 3 Fairies constantly bickering, having conversations with them, and changing items in the room from pink to blue...

You see, there's a science behind this whole thing...

P.S. The beauty behind this is that there will probably not be lines. They'll likely use fastpasses, and the attractions can accommodate many guests at a time. Those turned off by waits won't have to wait, methinks.

Great, fantastic, amazing news!

My 2 cents?

Canning one of the meet and greets, changing that to a ride (out door flat ride probably), and realigning Pixie Hollow towards a gender and age neutral audience.

It's in the inside that counts.

I'm not going to debate whether a young boy would want to new the princesses cause truth is I don't know. I just know that the area was more geared toward girls and they're finally changing it up to make it less gender specific.
