Whatever is built will be original when it opens.

Swing and a miss. :hammer::brick:
Why don't you go back to the Imagineering board like you promised? You obviously aren't contributing anything productive.

Kettle meet pot. I knew you couldn't ignore me long.

Now look who's being a "parrot". :hammer:

I'm basing that conclusion on construction already underway. Little late for big changes.

Nope.

And what's with talking like you know something? You don't, you've admitted it. All you have is an OrlSen article.

I read all the sources for leaked information/rumors and the are many. I would never claim direct inside connections or info if I did not have it. You?

Nothing major is changing with BatB or Mermaid.

Hi lurkers

Heh.

I would venture to say you are right there, but I'm still skeptical on the Belle M&G.

Like I said, something new MUST be coming and with that comes changes to the original plan. I don't see them finding any more land to place something of interest and expand the expansion.

But either way you'll be right because if it gets left alone, you're covered. And if something does change, you'll just say it wasn't a "major" change.

I actually just walked around Fantasyland and asked 100 people who Casey, Jr. is. Only 5 knew.

So it's actually 1 in 20 who know.

None out of the 100 had heard of Song of the South.

Doesn't really matter. As Kevin Costner learned, if you build a great attraction, people will ride it (once their Fastpass time comes up).

All that really matters is that we are talking about a new ride being built. Not a Princess sorority party.

Ironically, the Waterworld show at Universal Hollywood is a good example of this. Kevin Costner you've taught us so much...

ISTC I'm not saying it's all about Alice I just think it's the most logical. I don't care what it is. As long as it is a:
R I D E.

And btw Tower of Terror does fit the theme of Hollywood Studios. The front section of the part is dedicated to the 1940's Hollywood. The Hollywood Tower Hotel is from the era. So it does go. Now you can argue Rnrc shouldn't be where it is and then I'll give it to you :). lol

Really? Tower of Terror is the thing you pick out on Sunset Boulevard that doesn't fit in thematically? The thing that doesn't fit in thematically is Rock 'n' Roller Coaster. Various areas of DHS represent various time periods, it's not all the same. Echo lake is later than Sunset Boulevard for example.

Of course, I've heard different stories for how all of this was actually explained, but the different time periods explanation is in the Imagineering guide to Hollywood Studios.

This is a fantastic photo. Is there a high-res image of this available?

I never do stuff like that. Ever. Just because I don't contadict myself, as some desperately claim, shouldn't make folks insecure.

If they add a batb dark ride I will be the first to admit I was wrong and happily so.

That's where he'll be wrong, I see the main change as major. I have a feeling others will too.

A stage show could be seen as major. I think most folks think major is a dark ride or roller coaster. I just don't think that will happen. Hope I'm wrong.

This will likely explain our difference of opinion. My Top 10:

1. Haunted Mansion
2. Splash Mountain
3. Pirates
4. Big Thunder
5. Jungle Cruise
6. Space Mountain
7. PhilharMagic
8. Buzz Lightyear
9. Peter Pan
10.PeopleMover (have liked it since I was a kid...I realize it has no story, but I love riding it at night)

I LOVE the People Mover too! It's beautiful at night! I hope my FL bias didn't make it sound like I didn't appreciate the other attractions. I love Jungle Cruise as well, because of the animals!

BTW, when I say I get into a "story" more, that doesn't mean that it has to be a linear story to be a good story! For instance IASW is my co-fave and it's story is simply that the children of the world, and their animal friends, are gathered together in a happy, peaceful, tuneful celebration of joyous song and brotherhood!

The story of the Country Bears (another favorite) is that a group of Frontier Bears have gotten together to put on a hand-clappin', foot-stompin' hoedown!

So, I LOVE the "story" of both of these attractions, even though they are not a linear beginning/middle/end type of story.

Likewise, the story of PeopleMover is that it is the futuristic transportation system that gives a fun, birds eye view tour of Tomorrowland! And that's a fun story, too!

Some of the attractions DO tell a linear story with a beginning, middle, and ending, like Splash Mountain, Pooh, Snow White, and Peter Pan's Flight, and I love these stories - ESPECIALLY their happy ending payoffs, which is why IMO the current Snow White blows the original OUT OF THE SKY! :)

But I hope I didn't imply that a traditional linear story was necessary for me to love an attraction!

I trust juan and lee more on this not only for their track record, but also because it makes more sense. Staggs commented that they were making changes. That suggests major changes. If there were only minor changes occurring (which occur with EVERY construction project), he would have said nothing. We always expect attractions to look a bit different from what the concept art shows and to be a bit different that the original press release described. Disney doesn't CORRECT itself with these small modifications. For Staggs to say something suggests that what we will see will be quite different from the original concept art and press release.

Have you ever had to admit you were wrong? Not attacking, just curious. For a while I used to just skip right over your posts because everyone just pounced on you and caused derailment.

I do enjoy your cost savings thread in the Imagineering section. Not a bad thing to start.

Good Lord, man. Are you utterly incapable of self control?

Your incessant and self absorbed spamming of this thread with your barely literate drivel is insufferable. My 3 year old daughter constructs a more consistent and layered defense of her tantrums than you do.

If we were somehow able to excise the spasms of incoherence you've spattered throughout this thread we'd probably reduce the page count by roughly 30.

Since you're obviously incapable of letting someone else have the last word, take it to a PM.

I thought the princess and the frog was well animated, and the premise was nice, it was just horribly executed.

I mean, Prince Naveen just sort of decided out of the blue that he was in love with Tiana.

Look at Aladdin: there were three or four slower-paced 'character development' scenes to really show he and Jasmine 'should' be in love. And not that it was believable anyway.

I'm not trying to judge a kids movie by adult standards, but quality is quality when it comes to storytelling. P&F just didn't have it. I was barely aware of who shadow man was and why he did what he did.

Contrast with Jafar who suffered an insufferable sultan as his boss at least in a scene or two.

Disney keeps looking for a magic bullet. I think films like Enchanted are good places to start, but they need to get in touch with feel good quality again. Like Pixar (and Enchanted even).

They should stop it with the marketing mentality (treasure planet, Lilo and stitch, Atlantis). I liked those films, but they weren't very good in comparison to the classics.

It's hard to make good quality stuff, but money and resources should go towards quality and not gimmicks. Shrek 1 had 'soul' and the awful sequels have been riding off that.

So, concerning FLE, I think all that really can be done is to use it as vehicle to relaunch old classics, not new gimmicks

I'd much rather see a beautifully modern animated Cinderella with a new musical score and themes a little more grown up and modern, while rejecting the modern a bit - than some new tinkerbell backpack and pajamas seller.

Disney would make more money in the long run by maintaining a lead in the industry if they focused on quality at the loss of a year or two of 'pajamas profits'.

Parents will say: "Yeah, we saw Megamind instead of XXXXXXX Disney film, two years later we only watch the XXXXXXX DVD and can't wait to meet X at MK."

(sigh) OMFG! Not another overly-negative newbie!

Perhaps you missed the major controversy over the internet rumors that the FLE was being gutted by TDO. That is the fire he was trying to put out. Unfortunately now it has been twisted in the opposite direction and people are fanning new flames that a bunch of fanboy friendly epic adds are on the way. In this instance, Staggs failed by not giving more details. I'm sure he has learned. It's Lord of the Flies in the interwebs.

He said there would be changes at the margins or something to that effect. I'd hope a Yale grad would understand his meaning.
