Lol, BTW, does anyone remember all the talk of where the princesses will go? Where everyone was saying that it was in the Main Street Candy Shop? Well, I believe Jim Hill confirmed on the Magical Definition podcast this week that the princesses will be joining Mickey & Friends over at the Exposition Hall.

Jim Hill is wrong

Oh, dear God, is this it then? Sniffing in the right direction? My brain will hurt until the next announcement.

Rats! And probably somebody does know and can't say.:(

When I researched the FLE news and art and what would be there orginally,I noticed myself how heavy the Beauty and the Beast presence was compared to the other princesses.

Perhaps this is the part of FLE they do not want to cut in regard to re-thinking the heavy princess presence because it is their strongest total, cohesive element for what gets kept in the princess part of FLE?

I remember thinking...2 B&B themed restaurants and no other story gets one?

So perhaps it is quite obvious that none of these parts are getting cut because they all heavily tie in and make for a truly superb area and are not the weakest princess concept link?

Keep all the BB elements, go balls to the wall with it, and cut other parts and that is the scaling back part?

Cinderella has had her day in MK, has her castle and table service, so no harm done there, and well, poor Aurora misses out so Belle and Beast can be fully realized and because out of all the princesses it would hurt the least to cut her out.

Oh, not to Aurora lovers.... but perhaps what they are thinking?

jt will be crushed (and in denial) when he finds out about this!

Haha

I've must have landed in bizarro world with this thread. People were disrespecting Lee for being... hypocrytical and stuff (really? Dissing the ONE guy here (along with marni) who's been the coolest with letting people in the loop... Really?)... And then Juan gets nailed with the ego tag... When neither have to tell anyone anything? Wow....

And trying to put together the codes, guesses and hints are making my head hurt.

Sad to say cause I'm sure a Pinocchio dark ride would be amazing!!! he is such a classic and needs some better representation in MK in my opinion..

I agree! A Pinocchio's Daring Journey dark ride would BLOW ME AWAY! Pinocchio is one of my favorite films (not just by Disney, but ANY films!) and I completely agree that both the character and the film are underepresented in the MK. Also, my case for it is that the Pinocchio ride is NOT a Disneyland exclusive - Tokyo and Paris have it, too! So why can't we? It's missing in Hong Kong but there are a LOT of things missing in Hong Kong! ;)

Now, we come to Alice in Wonderland... Hmmm, Alice in Wonderland... New movie made money hand over fist... Alice seems to be in vogue since the Tim Burton movie... Mad tea Party already exists and is rumored to be getting a new roof later this year.. Hmmm... getting it prepared to fit a Wonderland land theme??? The budget slightly increased according to Staggs... Slightly could be just enough to build an Alice in Wonderland dark ride.. Take the money saved from not building PH, increase the budget a bit and BAM, enough for Wonderland!!! Does Alice skew toward girls?? I don't think so.. The characters in Wonderland appeal to everyone I think... Now, let's think some more... What one land has majority of the WDWMagic members wanted?? WONDERLAND... What has Steve and Raven and juan said about the new plans??? WE WOULD BE HAPPY... What land would make the members here happy?? WONDERLAND...

The Alice dark ride/land would BLOW ME AWAY as well! Especially if it was based on the look and feel of the 1951 Walt Disney Animated Classic film, rather than the current Burton one.

Dumbo is getting the circus theme and two spinners... I believe the spinners will reside in the northern portion of the eastern side, where Toontown Fair is.. So, unless a dark ride is being added (highly doubtful) or the circus will include teh Barnstormer, Dumbo is out...

I wouldn't have guessed a dark ride for Dumbo, but they do have the Casey Jr. Circus Train attraction at Disneyland which was later adapted for Disneyland Paris. Perhaps this would be the attraction, if the property in question is Dumbo?

I'd be excited for any of these three, or a return of Mr. Toad (which seems unlikely), or a dark ride never done before, such as Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, etc.

I can't wait to find out what it/they will be!

Sorry...still pondering...

So, a full princess storyline from start to finish. The B&B area in FLE tells the old fairytale rags to riches story. Poor girl looking for love in her French cottage. Little girls interact with her personally for story time. Perhaps Belle will not be dressed in her yellow ballgown at the cottage. The antagonist or third guy in the love triangle is near there, the Beast's opposition, Gaston, (with his own counter service) and then the the happy ending. The girl gets her man and a palace and you get to share in the glory with the culmination of your experience and immersion in the B&B story in one of 3 enchanted rooms in the Beast's castle table service, which is character dining and I wouldn't be surprised if the Belle there is wearing the yellow ballgown and the story and your experience comes full circle.

So, if Staggs and his team had to cut are they going to touch the above or touch Aurora and Cinderella? Leave some of it and touch PH?

My guess is that Aurora and/or Cinderella gets cut before any BB elements if that is what they decide to do. They have a completely inspired fully realized area above. The total princess experience.

Oh, and I forgot about BB boutique. Cinderella really has nothing to lose if she gets cut somehow.

So what is the value of each princess in the minds of Staggs and his team? If any of this is feasible than what is Cinderella and Aurora's standing versus Tinkerbell, PH, and her pixie friends.

Ok, that's all I got.

Juan, you're making it seem like Beauty and the Beast is getting more or less a changed dramatically.

So, BatB e-ticket dark ride? Or much smaller BatB area?

Hmmm....

And is the chateau still coming? That seems tailor-made for MK ):

Ah, it wouldn't be WDWMagic without several pages of someone saying they have insider knowledge and someone else accusing them of being a troll.

Sigh... feels like home. :)

As for me, I have absolutely no insider knowledge of the FLE, but I am super-excited that Staggs is taking so seriously the need to make it relevant to boys and girls, and that he's willing to rethink existing plans to make that happen.

That says to me that he cares about doing things the right way. And it makes me really hopeful that he might care enough to fix me sometime soon, too.

I've written an open letter to Tom Staggs on my blog about this whole thing. Feel free to pass it on to him if anyone here has insider access to him or his people. :drevil:

Aww, thanks guys! If you'll keep reading, I'll keep writing!

Next, I would like to suggest you write another open letter to Tom Staggs soon expressing our disappointments in the recent holiday season offering cutbacks and that we want them back ASAP, especially the Country Bear Xmas Show, Lights of Winter, etc.

Also please mention in that same letter that most of us want the Haunted Mansion Holiday and It's a Small World Holiday overlays to be done here in Florida as well as in California.

I was referring to company-wide plans being the iceberg. I'm more excited about those than the FLE.

And to clarify, I like new FLE west, not new FLE east.

What's wrong with "new FLE east"?

Tell us that they'll be doing stuff to make it better so you'll like it as much as the "new FLE west".

I'm also still waiting to hear any news from you regarding WDW's Xmas offerings when they're going to start bringing back the Country Bear Xmas show, Lights of Winter, etc. and stop offering Haunted Mansion Holiday, Small World Holiday, etc. like at DL.

LOL - that was me. But I was kidding. I also suggested the Yankee Trader. If they wind up on Main Street, I want apologies from everyone. :ROFLOL:

Regardless...everyone won't be happy in the end. It happens every time. The purists will always hate change...and everyone will be annoyed by the purists.

I've been thinking the same thing. The one thing all the insiders keep telling us is that everyone will be happy. That's impossible. You can't possibly make everyone happy. People will be disappointed if the plans change too much or too little. No matter what, someone will find something to complain about.

If the new plans include more attractions than the original plans as has been hinted, I think most of the people here will be happy. But not everyone. (For example, I imagine PH fans are going to be disappointed no matter what.)

Why do I keep thinking that Cinderella may get a new dark ride? Or Beauty and the Beast getting a dark ride. All in all, there's some very exciting news.

Because you are being duped.

You know when it'll be announced!? Lol. Boy I can't wait until that day comes. I'd give it till before the end of the year.

Staggs has already explained that we have mostly seen what is coming.

Agreed on the chateau. No new dark ride is happening unless there is a phase 3.

Exactly and that is what is being set-up by some here. I hate to say it but Staggs fell for the internet doom and gloom scam hook/line/sinker. I hope he realizes too that all the advice givers both inside and outside the company do not necessarily have Disney's best interests at heart. But especially on forums populated by former employee wannabes.

Really? With such a long thread I must have missed the post where the insiders definitively said it WOULDN'T be a dark ride.

And since you say you're NOT an insider, how do you know for certain it won't be?

Not trying to be argumentative, I'm just curious!

juan, can you confirm about the concept art on the constructions walls?? Was Cinderella's chateau ever represented in concept art on the constructions walls or no?

The only thing I ever saw on the construction walls was what has already been established in this thread as being there - Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast stuff. This was all I ever saw there in my regular visits through early June, but I was NOT there for part of May and haven't been since early June, so I won't make any claims for sure that the Cinderella/Aurora stuff was never there. But if it was, I never saw it!

I can only advise reading the OrSen article again. Absolutely nothing indicates any major change. They are only tweaking some of the content. Even Lee is backtracking on some of his claims.

Actually, I don't think that's what he is saying at all.

Well, I believe Jim Hill confirmed on the Magical Definition podcast this week that the princesses will be joining Mickey & Friends over at the Exposition Hall.
The princesses will only go to Main St. if they need a temporary home until their real one is finished. Still highly unlikely they will ever appear there.

I've been thinking the same thing. The one thing all the insiders keep telling us is that everyone will be happy. That's impossible. You can't possibly make everyone happy.
True. Some people will likely be very disappointed.

Even Lee is backtracking on some of his claims
My "backtracking" is going to be due to my information being a bit incomplete. Far more seems to be changing than I had been led to believe. Some things I said were safe, may in fact not be.:lookaroun

I'm not sure of the true nature of the new ride. May be dark...or not. Working kinda feverishly to find out....

I'm guessing you are referring to the meet and greets, which up until a week or so ago seemed to be going ahead. Scaling those back to maybe a single consolidated M&G and turfing PH would definitely free up some space. How much budget it would free up is what I'm not sure of. Can't wait to see what is going to slide into place.
