Staggs says changes to Fantasyland...

There has been a trend by a few posters lately that they have seen the great and wonderful plans but they can't share them. They say folks would be beyond amazed. Then they say they can't even hint at the plans. I'm calling shenanigans with emphasis!

Believe me or don't believe me, I'm not going to lose sleep over it.

I do feel that my track record for big items is good. A few years back, I toured Everest 6 months before opening - I posted all about that info (I can't find my original thread, sorry). I toured Nemo ride 6 months before its opening, posted what I could.

Other than those and this FLE, I don't remember anything other times when I have claimed to be "in the know." I don't think that equates to a trend of generalities for me.

Can you link to any examples?

I would speculate we're going to see one (possibly more) additional "attractions" based on the existing princess franchises. Since LM is being billed as a mega attraction (when it's really just a D level dark ride) would it even be possible to for them to be adding another a dark ride without similar fanfare?

That's a speculation, but not exactly right. I did say before that some here have guessed right. I'm sorry but I can't say who.

Yes I also find it very interesting Juan was completely unaware that there were 2 sets of blueprints showing Dumbo in two completely seperate locations and one of our insiders at one time said Dumbo was moving but only a very short distance (like feet away).

Well I hadn't viewed the original leaked in a while. I forgot there were 2 locations. My statement that dumbo was moving in accordance to original plans is based of the D23 announcement being "the original plans." It moving a short distance is not the case.

The new plan is far far less girlie and the expansion is closer to completion than you would think. Also, people may go other places besides the LM at rope drop.

Maybe Space Mountain on board audio with new effects?

How about we take everything into consideration and put a list together of films not centered at girls. Specifically WDAS films

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
Pinocchio
Fantasia
Dumbo
Bambi
The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad
Alice in Wonderland
Peter Pan
Lady and the Tramp
One Hundred and One Dalmatians
The Sword in the Stone
Mary Poppins
The Jungle Book
The Aristocats
Robin Hood
The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
The Rescuers
Beauty and the Beast
Aladdin
The Lion King
The Hunchback of Notre Dame
Hercules

Out of this list I'd break it down to relevant films with a pretty large fanbase still

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
Pinocchio
Fantasia
Dumbo
Alice in Wonderland
Peter Pan
One Hundred and One Dalmatians
Mary Poppins
The Jungle Book
Robin Hood
The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
Beauty and the Beast
Aladdin
The Lion King
Hercules

And then eliminate what's already represented in the park in some way already

Fantasia
One Hundred and One Dalmatians
Mary Poppins
The Jungle Book
Robin Hood
Beauty and the Beast
The Lion King
Hercules

So, that list would be my guesses of what could possibly be added in some way to the FLE. Anyone got any other guesses?

I tend to lean towards Beauty and the Beast. Since Juan mentioned there's no new franchise. But then Lee also mentioned that all the new stuff would be put in the east side, so it wouldn't work because Beauty and the Beast is at the western end of the FLE.

Err, how about not?

Per juan:

who said anything about a new/different franchise?

He pretty much directly said we're not talking about anything other than the franchises already included in the original FLE plan:

Beauty and the Beast
Cinderella
Sleeping Beauty
The Little Mermaid
Dumbo

One could argue the following may also be possibilities depending on the breadth of his statement:

The Pixie franchise
Winnie the Pooh

You're heading down the right path.
It wasn't just franchises in the expansion, it was park-wide

Add on to that list:
Lady and Tramp
Snow White
Peter Pan
Lilo and Stitch
Song of the South
Pinocchio
Alice in Wonderland
Toy Story

Well, that list is much smaller :lookaroun

If I had to name my top 3 guesses I'd say

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
Dumbo
Peter Pan

Okay, so allow me to combine the lists:

Cinderella
Dumbo
Lady and Tramp
Lilo and Stitch
Peter Pan
Pinocchio
Pixie franchise
Sleeping Beauty
Snow White
Song of the South
The Little Mermaid
Toy Story
Winnie the Pooh

You specifically said it wasn't Toy Story earlier, so let's axe that. I think the following are obvious to remove, as well:

Lady and Tramp
Lilo and Stitch
Song of the South

That leaves us with:

Alice in Wonderland
Beauty and the Beast
Cinderella
Dumbo
Peter Pan
Pinocchio
Pixie franchise
Sleeping Beauty
Snow White
The Little Mermaid
Winnie the Pooh

That's a good list, now which one?

Alice in Wonderland
Beauty and the Beast
Cinderella
Dumbo
Peter Pan
Pinocchio
Pixie franchise
Sleeping Beauty
Snow White
The Little Mermaid
Winnie the Pooh

Which one or which two? :)

I'm going to assume the following wouldn't make the cut for variety of reasons:

Alice in Wonderland - girl centric
Cinderella - girl centric
Dumbo - already a headline attraction, plus it's an awfully old story
The Little Mermaid - already a major planned attraction

So here's my proposed, further cut down list:

Beauty and the Beast
Peter Pan
Pinocchio
Pixie franchise
Sleeping Beauty
Snow White
Winnie the Pooh
