Nice review hpyhnt 1000. True, I agree SSE has lost its original message of how communication technology can unify the world. Now its more like, "now you can communicate with your friends and family better with new technology from Siemens!"

Well AT&T pressed their name in previous versions as well. There's nothing wrong with saying "now you can communicate with your friends and family better with new technology from Siemens!". That's why they sponsor the attraction. The problem is if that message is delivered in a bad way

Exactly! Its like they completely ignored the message of the previous version! Imagine, they put together a great attraction concerning the future of human kind, then completely ignore the message they origianlly had, which was grand future where we lived together as one in one future for all of us.

I'm going to call it: It's going to open up with some changes, be popular with regular guests for a bit, while still being called a "failure" from most of the fans.

I will still ride it and enjoy it, and hopefully, life will go on for us all.

Ok, most of us at least.

I dislike the current trend to label anyone who does not like the refurb of SSE as impossible to please, who apparently moan at anything Disney does. Sorry but your just being ignorant.

Since I have started posting on WDW Magic there has been…..

Soarin: Love it
LMAX: Nice little addition
EE: Love it
POTC Refurb: Nice little Refurb
Finding Nemo the Musical: Love it
The Seas with Nemo and Friends: Nice little addition
Gran Fiesta Tour: Can tolerate it, its not too bad, I do not want any more characters invading WS though
MILF: Can tolerate it, Its not too bad.
HM Refurb: Love it
The Yak and Yeti: Love it

So out of 10 things that have happened I have Loved 5 of them, thought 3 were nice additions, and the other 2 are not too bad.

Seems to me I’ve been pretty positive towards what Disney have been doing with WDW as of late. So how I have suddenly been turned into Mr Negative because I happen to point out obvious flaws that go against everything Disney stands for (Or Used to anyway) I’ll never know.

Ok Merf, enough is enough. Get over yourself. When you first started posting on these boards, I enjoyed your posts. But now, you've let praise go to your head. This board wouldn't crash and burn if you weren't here, you're not necessary WDWMagic, get over yourself. And for every one thing you contribute, you complain about five. You overreact to the slightest things, you think you're greatest thing since Iced Tea, and you think you're untouchable. You're not.

Is it overreacting when the most popular ride at WDW (in terms of ridership) has its back-half blown off by shoddy design?

Everything from 180top to the end wasn't very good even before the refurbishment.

Don't take this the wrong way, but ... eh, whatever.

Anyway, no one knows who you are, so when they are talking about the 95EPCOT crew, you aren't one of them. CThaddeus, ExpoSeeker, kcnole, GhostBuster/Enigma ... people like that are the ones being referred to. The ones that fought so hard about the wand and all the other changes and how every one of these changes, except for the wand coming down, was the end of Epcot as we know it, and the wand coming down sent us back to 1995.

A good rule of thumb is that if someone is saying 'you're anti-change' and you are not, then they are aren't talking to you.

Yes i was basing the “majority” on magic.

What else do we have to go off at this point so we might as well go off the information we have at hand.

The majority of people on WDW Magic feel the SSE refurb is a let down, and as most people on this forum are pretty knowledgeable about Disney I'd say this forums views carry quite a bit of weight as well.

The majority where?

On magic?

There are tons of other people who have been on it and we have no idea how they feel.

Squeaky wheel gets the grease and all that.

Their moaning and complaining was to be expected. If the ride wasn't basically the exact same thing but with a little bit extra, they were going to be like this.

And even then, you'd see complaints.

So what makes this version of the Descent any good then?

Guys. lets keep this thread on subject, and not get into personal disputes with each other. If you want to do that, do it via PMs, not in the threads.
Thanks.

I have no opinion on the ride, as I have not ridden it. I am simply commenting on how I said many, many, many times that this exact scenario would happen. I am more interested in the nature of the complaints and the complainants than the ride itself, which I will not comment on directly until I have ridden it.

I think the problem that most people have is the change that is trying to be made with SSE. Most of us have always known it to be dramatic and serious in tone. Now, it appears Disney is going a different route, making it more optimistic and personal for each guest. No one said the previous version was perfect, and I recall that everyone had big hopes for this refurb. I think some of us (myself included) are shocked at the sudden change that has occurred, and are struggling to get used to it.
