Hey guys, try and stay on topic. If you want to discuss IPODS, start a thread in chit chat. Thanks :)

I am suprised no one has mentioned it yet but "Chalk one up for Iger". This is the first big thing for Disney since he became CEO. Good for him. Hopefully this is a sign for more good things to come.

Sorry, Steve.

Back on topic:

I think that SSE's new sponsor is a good dign, just like everyone else. The main thing that I think needs the most wrok is the post-show, for sure. It's almost painful to walk through there.

HP's sponsorship was $100 million.
That's a lot of steak sauce.

Being a golfer (and a bad one at that) I always think of golf when I see SSE. Maybe they could get a golf company (like Nike) to sponsor it, and in the scene with the two kids communicating they could subsitute Tiger Woods and Michelle Wie.

I'm fairly certain that is what Disney doesn't want.

The wand and hand would definitely be eliminated by Nike.

But, of course, you'd also get 2 of the obligatory "Swooshes" in it's place... One coming and One going......

I agree Nike would be a bad idea, especially since people would see the slogan "Just Do It" before going on a 20 minute ride through the dark!

You are correct. I believe that pic was taken the day after the 1997 auburn vs alabama game.

Also, I'm surprised this hasn't been mentioned yet, but if this sponsorship is in fact a done deal, it would probably mean that there is a full refurb of SSE on the way, something that would close it for a while to open it during Epcots 25th. Could that be what Corrus was referring to in the brother bear thread?

I completely agree. And to acknowledge what Captain Hank said as well, yes this would be "unexpected". This would be a somewhat unexpected move, but at the same time it would be greatly needed appreciated.

Considering there is a new sponsor, a major refurb is strongly suggested soon. I would expect SSE to go down, presumably in anticipation of the 25th shortly after this announcement.

Cool if it's siemens I'll get to use the lounge:animwink: We want to be more visable in the US market and this is a good idea. But we do much more than communications we are like GE but larger everywhere but the USA. 500,000 employees worldwide with over 70k in the USA and 4k in the orlando area. I don't know how it will look in teal though. And our catch phrase is spin the globe so SSE sort of fits in:D

Yep... your VDO folks drop into our offices, often these days, it seems. ;)

The clearing out of the offices has been done for a while. When I worked in first part of '03, I helped clean out the offices for the new carpet, and That was over 2 years ago.

The offices were reused earlier this year. Disney's Photopass service previously had its Epcot base in the old AT&T offices. If you don't believe me, ask one of the photographers in Epcot where their base used to be. Photopass moved somewhere else on Wednesday (I'm not sure where).

I was wondering if anyone has one of those models that they sold during the 2000 celebration of Spaceship earth. I found mine in the closet the other day and put it on top of my computer. It is so respectable :D
