The Point's prices are steeper than most of the genre, fair enough; but it's likely the most popular destination in all of northern Ohio, and as far as out-of-staters are usually concerned, ALL of Ohio. Likely anyone within a 200 mile radius has heard of CP, but not so much of Kings Island. Now, a $13 difference between the two parks may seem like a lot, but Cedar Point is the company's flagship park, and usually people will pay whatever price the gates throw at 'em. Kings Island (and this is pure guesswork on my part) isn't as big a draw; maybe to locals, yes, but not many other tourists will make a vacation out of the Cincinnati area. :lol:
Disney, on the other hand, has clearly already made a name for itself, and people almost certainly WILL pay through the nose and, as well we all know, will make a full-fledged experience out of it all. Disney almost seems to feed purely off of word-of-mouth these days.
Picture a brand-name product that everyone trusts, compared to a local product that's substantially cheaper, but slightly more questionable quality. Now, without commenting on whoever happens to read this and their grocery choices :lol:, I'd wager most people would choose the tried and true label.
Unless they announce a recall, in which case we're all screwed and my bored-on-a-Friday-afternoon analogy is rendered meaningless. :lookaroun
