what surprised me was her calling Vader Anakin when she was talking to Obi Wan. No one in the original films appears to know he’s Anakin which is why the ‘I am your father’ was so shocking. Ashoka didn’t know in rebels until she broke his mask either. if people knew why didn’t someone tell Luke?

It was also interesting that Obi Wan was shocked when she mentioned Vader even though in Revenge its only the emperor who knows that Anakin is Darth Vader

My question about this is: Is Darth Vader a known person across the galaxy in the early Empire? People know the Emperor but do they know that Vader exists, like is he a famous warrior for the Empire? It's not clear to me if Kenobi just realized that this evil henchman Vader he already knew about was Anakin or if Vader isn't a public figure. Obviously by ANH he knew about Vader/Anakin.

Leia knew of Vader in ANH but maybe he became more public in the intervening years.

Did Kenobi ever learn of Anakin being called Vader during RotS?

Didn’t the emperor call Anakin ‘Lord Vader’ in the hologram he watches with Yoda?
And Yoda tells Obi-Wan "the boy you trained, gone he is, consumed by Darth Vader". So he knows. They know (Obi and Yoda). Although they have no idea what he looks like now.

But this was before the great duel. Whether Obi-Wan and Yoda thought he was alive, they did not say (geez I am typing like Yoda now LOL).

I don't think that Qui Gon is the only former Jedi we will see. I think there is a very strong chance we will have a visit from Yoda himself as well. How that will look, who knows. Probably communication through the Force from world to world. (no, not the "Force skype" thing although that wasn't the first time we saw two individuals communicate. Luke and Vader communicated. Luke and Leia communicated. Maybe not as far away as Obi and Yoda, but then again both parties were not as strong as Obi and Yoda are.)

I REALLY like it so far, albeit being predictable. Two things are clearly obvious:
1. Reva is obviously an Order 66 survivor. Why she's so hell bent on Obi-Wan, who knows?

It seems pretty obvious to me. These writers are obvious hacks.

She wants Obi-Wan to get to Vader to try and kill him as revenge for order 66. We know for "reasons" the badly written and acted character will somehow be "good." So it'll be a plot of revenge, going to the dark side of the force in anger of dark force users. Then they'll end up showing they are really better than Anakin by not killing kids with force powers. It then won't really work or resonate because the character has been shown to be more evil than the other inquisitors. Redemption from the dark side with a twist because they can't think of new storylines.

Which is why I am secretly hoping Obi-Wan and Vader do not meet in this series. As fun as it would be, I think the ideal first meeting post Mustafar should always be this silent, menacing approach in the Death Star.

No words spoken those first few seconds as Obi-Wan registers what he is seeing, and Alec Guinness's facial expression captures the moment perfectly. You can really feel his shock in what he's witnessing for the first time.

Has any other series debuted with 2 episodes this long before? It specifically says "hours streamed" which seems at least partially tied to how there were two episodes of decent length. Obviously if there is a longer runtime, you'll have more "hours streamed" for the same number of viewers.

Not disputing that was certainly a highly watched premier, just commenting on how the numbers are sometimes manipulated.

I'm sure WandaVision did with two episodes.

But, that stat isn't as remarkable as it sounds as Disney's subscription numbers keep climbing by the millions. It makes breaking records so much easier when you have a few dozen million extra subs to watch.

I'm confused as to why Moses (Reva) is taking so much racism and hate. Because she's black? Newsflash, the galaxy far, far away has always been diverse and inclusive. Lando, Finn, Mace Windu, Jannah, Moff Gideon, Greef Karga, Saw Gerrera....
So why is she the target of the morons? Because she's black and trying to hunt down the main character? Give me a break people.

Have you actually seen racism or just people talking about it?

I don't get US race politics. It's all different in my part of the world. Yet I exist in Star Wars communities online in several places and have seen zero racism.

They announced before the show came out this would happen. To which many people went, "this is going to be a deflection from criticism." The show comes out, her character has zero redeeming qualities, is written to be hated and frankly the overacting is not the good kind. People don't like the character, as intended. Now all the discussion is "racism." It seems almost a self full-filling prophecy.

Many racists know better than to make their remarks public on Twitter... it gets them banned.

She received "DMs" and showed them to Disney. She made a Twitter video where she said what kind of stuff they were saying.

It's the same thing that John Boyega and Marie Tran and Daisy Riddley received for being a Black stormtrooper, or an Asian or female protagonist... before the movie even came out (so don't anyone dare say it was solely because of their acting or the plot).

Cf. new Pinocchio's Blue Fairy.

I think that’s a continuity error…only the emperors posse would have necessarily known he was Alive…

And depending on the timing…Ashoka, obiwan (filled that in) and yoda knew between 3 and 4
