This comment is filler and fails to progress the argument.

Seriously, are you people dead inside?

Yes, this was huge on helping to "progress the argument".

But if you want more then the episode was exceptionally slow paced and boring and did nothing except show that Disney cannot have any "villain" stay bad. Boba was a feared bounty hunter and now he looks weak and is some joke of the character he used to be. And the CGI for the creature was laughably bad but hey those particle effects were snazzy.

Was Boba Fett ever a villain? Also, we don't know what his end game is.
But I do think you make a point. Anyone who struggled with the idea of Luke being anything less than what he was thirty years later will probably struggle with this elder-Boba. Some just want their characters locked in time.
Again, laughably bad, crappy, janky- I'm just not seeing it. Like, at all. But okay.

I also did get that vibe but the design was just bad.
I'd say it would fit right in along with these guys:

But yes, the design pales before the greatness of Wioslea (the alien Luke sells his land speeder to) a.k.a. the greatest Star Wars alien of all time:

Villan? No.
Good guy? Definitely not.

He was a bounty hunter in the truest sense of the words as he would partner with whoever would help him achieve his goal. The Rebellion, the Hutts, the Empire...it did not matter as long as he got paid. Had he found Grogu, he would have turned him over to "the client" and never thought about him again.

Yes, up until the Sarlaac pit. Maybe now he realizes he's too old for the bounty hunter life. He's making plans for the future.

I got the impression that the creature design and the "janky"-ness were intentional as an homage to Harryhausen-era stop-motion monsters. I could be wrong, though. 🤷‍♂️
It was pure Harryhausen homage down to the stop-motion look of it - which is why I mentioned the Harryhausen monster along with the guy in the lizard suit:

But I thought a lot of the CGI was poor looking compared to Mando - were they not using the Volume? It looked more low budget - especially CGI Boba Fett - but then again, maybe they're saving the budget for better effects later on - productions do have to pick and choose and Rodriguez knows how to do low budget.

I'm not giving up on the show after one ep that didn't thrill me. I like both Temuera and Ming-Na - I just hope they have more interesting scenes forthcoming.

I actually kinda adore the stop motion-esque look of the desert monster. But I'm also a fan of Jason & the Argonauts, Sinbad, Clash of the Titans, et al films.

As an aside, I think Disney should look into using Greek/Roman mythology for future animated/live action films or Disney+ shows. It would be the kind of fairy tale-esque stuff that Disney is know for, but with a more boys/gender neutral aspect than "princesses". I know they had done Hercules but I'm thinking stuff that would be more faithful to the source material. Could be a great anthology series for Disney+ or cinematic universe; also would be a possible good basis for rides in the parks.

Its been confirmed that Disney is doing a live action version of Hercules.

Discussion is in this thread (when thread was started in 2019 it wasn't confirmed but it later was confirmed in summer 2020):

They are doing a Percy Jackson series, so they are definitely going to explore that. Hopefully, since it is a series, they will take time and explore the history of the Gods and Goddesses.

Well I like how you are comparing the CGI of a show from 2021 to a movie from 1977.

I think the whole point is that some like the homage that was done, others didn't such as yourself.

I personally didn't see the CGI being that much of an issue, but then again I wasn't really looking for it.

Well I had more of an issue with the creature's design rather than the CGI. It was just an overall lackluster debut but hopefully it will get better.

Like I said, some had an issue with the homage (or didn't know it was an homage design wise) and some liked it. Not really a big deal if someone is in either camp.

I really enjoyed episode two. Good balance between the ’current’ and flashback stories and a return of the hutts to tatooine. I suspect the two storylines will converge by the end of the series.

What I find fun is spotting the references to old movies scattered through the show. As well as the classic westerns (man called horse, the searchers) there was a definite nod to lawrence of Arabia with the train scene.

its also fun to see more of tusken culture I love the way how over time they have gone from being barbaric sand people to showing a more sophisticated culture

This isn't Boba Fett, this is a new character with the same costume and name. Boba Fett was a bounty hunter that did torture and was ruthless. He had Wookie scalps attached to his shoulder. Now he gets beat up by street thugs with shields and needs an asian lady to fight for him. More watering down of Star Wars for the masses.

I gave it half an hour. I had about two minutes of hope when the Hutt twins showed up and then it went full into white savior trope backstory - which is where I was concerned it might go based on the first episode.

Yes, I know Temuera is part Maori. But he's also part white. And well-spoken White Man teaching the barely coherent natives how to attack the train??? Okay, weren't we done with this kind of storytelling a LONG time ago?

Just... no. I'm out.

I see the concern, but not the comparison. There's a give and take- they're learning from one another. The best thing he taught them was how to tax a route through their land. Stories of finding common ground and mutual advancement are never a bad thing (which I think this is as opposed to a "white savior." They're only barely coherent to those unfamiliar with their way of communicating- just as galactic basic probably seems to them. We also see Boba learning their sign language over them learning to speak "coherently." Boba taught them speeder bikes while they taught him close quarter combat with staffs. Far more interesting and likely important is the "Gift" they gave him.
Again, I get the concern, but I see this arc teaching Boba far more than he teaches the Tuskens. We'll see- or at least I'll see as I gave it more than a half hour.
